Overview
Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) was established in 1743 and is one of Germany’s largest research-intensive universities. FAU comprises five faculties and programmes are offered in the following subject areas - Humanities, Social Sciences and Theology, Medicine, Law, Economics, Sciences and Engineering. The motto of the University is ‘Advance through Networks’. Imbibing the motto, inter-disciplinary research and the option to combine different majors is an integral part of the academic structure. The University is home to over 40,000 students and has a strong international student community.
