Queen's Family Scholarship

1. The Queen’s Family Scholarship is exclusively available to new international students beginning a full duration postgraduate programme at the Queen's University Belfast campus in the academic year 2019-20. 2. The Queen’s Family Scholarship is available to children and siblings of current Queen’s University Belfast or Queen’s University Belfast Alumni. Step children and step siblings will also be eligible subject to point 5 below. 3. The scholarship may only be claimed by students whose sibling or parent is currently pursuing, or has already completed, a full duration postgraduate programme at Queen's University Belfast. (*All years of programme must be completed at Queen’s University Belfast). 4. Students must be classified as international fee-paying students paying the international tuition fee rate in order to be considered for this discount. Students paying NI/GB/EU fees are not eligible for the Queen’s Family Scholarship 5. Students must complete an application form via the Queen’s University Belfast website to claim the Scholarship. 6. Students wishing to avail of the Queen’s Family Scholarship may be required to provide additional verification of their relationship to the current Queen’s University Belfast student or Queen’s University Belfast Alumni through whom they are claiming the Scholarship. 7. The discount is awarded for the first year only, and is deducted from gross tuition fees. 8. Students must be self-funded. 9. Where Queen’s University Belfast has agreed discounted tuition fees with partner institutions, those students benefiting from these arrangements will not be eligible for the Queen’s Family Scholarship. 10. Students in receipt of full funding from external sponsorship bodies will not be eligible for the Queen’s Family Scholarship. 11. 11. The following programmes are excluded from eligibility for the Queen’s Family Scholarship: > Postgraduate: PG Certificate and PG Diploma programmes, MTh Theology, > ALL Distance Learning programmes, foundation degree programmes and non-standard fee courses, including part-time programmes. > External PhD programmes where students only undertake part of their research at Queen’s University. > Higher Doctorates - Doctor of Divinity (DD), Doctor of Laws (LLD), Doctor of Letters (DLitt), Doctor of Science (DSc), Doctor of Science (Economics) (DSc(Econ)), Doctor of Science, (Education) (DSc(Ed)) and Doctor of Social Science (DSSc) > PhD programmes by Published Works 12. Students must request authorisation from the International Office before making any changes to their programme of study. Where changes are made without authorisation being granted, the scholarship may be withdrawn and students may be required to repay the scholarship in full. 13. In the event that a student has received scholarship offers for a number of different programmes at Queen’s University, they will only be able to redeem one scholarship award. This will be the scholarship award for the course onto which they enrol in the 2019-20 academic year. 14. International scholarships cannot be used in conjunction with any other University scholarship. Students can however use their scholarship in conjunction with the Early-Bird reward discount. 15. The University reserves the right to vary all or any scholarship awards, discounts and regulations at its sole discretion.

International Office Postgraduate Taught Scholarships

Students must hold an offer for a place on a full-time postgraduate taught programme at the Queen’s University Belfast campus, starting in the academic year 2019-20 and meet any academic and language conditions attached to their offer as stated in their offer letter. Students must be classified as international fee-paying students paying the international tuition fee rate in order to be considered for this discount. Students paying NI/GB/EU fees are not eligible for the International Office Postgraduate Taught Scholarship. The discount is awarded for the first year of study only, and is deducted from gross tuition fees upon enrolment. Students must register on their degree programme by the start date outlined in their offer. Scholarships may not be deferred to the following academic year. Students must be self-funded. Where Queen’s University Belfast has agreed discounted tuition fees with partner institutions, those students benefiting from these arrangements will not be eligible for the Queen’s Postgraduate Taught Scholarship. Students in receipt of full funding from external sponsorship bodies will not be eligible for the Queen’s Postgraduate Taught Scholarship. The following programmes are excluded from eligibility for the International Office Postgraduate Taught Scholarship: > Postgraduate: PG Certificate and PG Diploma programmes, MTh Theology, All Queen's Management Postgraduate Taught programmes > ALL Distance Learning programmes, foundation degree programmes and non-standard fee courses, including part-time programmes. Early Bird Reward

The Early Bird Reward discount is exclusively available to new international students beginning a full-time course in September 2019. Exclusions apply – see point 10 below. Students must hold an unconditional offer of a place on a full-time programme at the Queen’s University Belfast campus starting in the academic year 2019-20. The following deadlines apply: > Postgraduate students must pay 90% of their Year 1 fees by 23.59 BST on 30 June 2019 to avail of the discount, subject to T&Cs Students wishing to avail of the Early Bird Reward discount must email proof of transfer to internationalscholarships@qub.ac.uk. The discount is awarded for the first year only, and is deducted from gross tuition fees. The EBR may be used in conjunction with other International Office scholarships, namely: Postgraduate Taught & Postgraduate Research Scholarships; Queen’s Family Scholarship; QMS Global Scholarships. EBR may also be used in conjunction with CQC scholarships. Where Queen’s University Belfast has agreed discounted tuition fees with partner institutions, those students benefiting from these arrangements will not be eligible for the Early Bird Reward discount. Students must be classified as international fee-paying students paying the international tuition fee rate in order to be considered for this discount. Students paying NI/GB/EU fees are not eligible for the Early Bird Reward discount. Students must be self-funded. Queen's Loyalty Scholarship

Students must be classified as international fee-paying students paying the international tuition fee rate in order to be considered for this discount. Students paying NI/GB/EU fees are not eligible for the Queen’s Loyalty Scholarship. Students must complete an application form via the Queen’s University Belfast website to verify their previous programme of study. The discount is awarded for the first year of study only, and is deducted from gross tuition fees upon enrolment. Students must register on their degree programme by the start date outlined in their offer. Scholarships may not be deferred to the following academic year. Students must be self-funded. Where Queen’s University Belfast has agreed discounted tuition fees with partner institutions, those students benefiting from these arrangements will not be eligible for the Queen’s Loyalty Scholarship. Students in receipt of full funding from external sponsorship bodies will not be eligible for the Queen’s Loyalty Scholarship. INTO Scholarship

Exclusively for INTO Graduate Diploma Students on INTO Queen’s Graduate Diploma Management and Finance Programmes completing studies in 2019. Eight awards will be made to the two top academic achieving INTO Queen’s Graduate Diploma Students applying to Queen’s Management School from each INTO Queen’s programme in Management and Finance, in each cohort (Sept and January). Student must have firmly accepted their unconditional offer for a place and enrolled on a full time postgraduate programme at Queen’s Management School starting in the academic year 2019-20 and prior to commencement of study have met any academic and language conditions attached to their offer as stated in their offer letter. Students must be classified as international fee paying students paying the international tuition fee rate in order to be considered for this discount. Students paying NI/GB/EU fees are not eligible. The award will automatically apply to the eight successful top achieving INTO Queen’s Graduate Diploma Students from Management and Finance Programmes (2 awards per cohort/per programme. Students must register on their degree programme by the start date outlined in their offer. The award may not be deferred to the following academic year. Students must be self funded and not in receipt of full funding from external sponsorship bodies. In the event that a student has received scholarship offers for a number of different programmes at Queen's University Belfast they will only be able to redeem one scholarship award. This will be the scholarship award for the course onto which they enrol in the 2019-20 academic year. The University reserves the right to vary all or any scholarship awards, discounts and regulations at its sole discretion. Successful students will be automatically placed onto one of the CMI award cohorts during the academic year 2019/20 at the Graduate School. Awards will be allocated to the next highest achieving student in cohort/programme if the successful applicant opts out.
