Queen's Family Scholarship

The Queen’s Family Scholarship is exclusively available to new international students beginning a full duration postgraduate programme at the Queen's University Belfast campus in the academic year 2020-21. The Queen’s Family Scholarship is available to children and siblings of current Queen’s University Belfast or Queen’s University Belfast Alumni. Step children and step siblings will also be eligible subject to point 5 below. The scholarship may only be claimed by students whose sibling or parent is currently pursuing, or has already completed, a full duration* undergraduate or postgraduate programme at Queen's University Belfast. (*All years of programme must be completed at Queen’s University Belfast). Students must be classified as international fee-paying students paying the international tuition fee rate in order to be considered for this discount. Students paying NI/GB/EU fees are not eligible for the Queen’s Family Scholarship Students must complete an application form via the Queen’s University Belfast website to claim the Scholarship. Students wishing to avail of the Queen’s Family Scholarship may be required to provide additional verification of their relationship to the current Queen’s University Belfast student or Queen’s University Belfast Alumni through whom they are claiming the Scholarship. The discount is awarded for the first year only, and is deducted from gross tuition fees. The scholarship cannot be used in lieu of any required deposit and no cash alternative is available. Students must be self-funded. Where Queen’s University Belfast has agreed discounted tuition fees with partner institutions, those students benefiting from these arrangements will not be eligible for the Queen’s Family Scholarship.Where Queen’s University Belfast has agreed discounted tuition fees with partner institutions, those students should contact the International Office by email to confirm their eligibility. Students in receipt of full funding from external sponsorship bodies will not be eligible for the Queen’s Family Scholarship. If you are in receipt of funding (either tuition fees or tuition fees and living costs) from an external sponsorship body such as Government, a charity or a private organisation you will not be eligible for a Queen’s Family Scholarship - Postgraduate. This excludes students in receipt of educational loans. The following programmes are excluded from eligibility for the Queen’s Family Scholarship: > Postgraduate: PG Certificate and PG Diploma programmes, MTh Theology, > ALL Distance Learning programmes, foundation degree programmes and non-standard fee courses, including part-time programmes. > External PhD programmes where students only undertake part of their research at Queen’s University. > Higher Doctorates - Doctor of Divinity (DD), Doctor of Laws (LLD), Doctor of Letters (DLitt), Doctor of Science (DSc), Doctor of Science (Economics) (DSc(Econ)), Doctor of Science, (Education) (DSc(Ed)) and Doctor of Social Science (DSSc) > PhD programmes by Published Works

Early Bird Reward

1. The Early Bird Reward discount is exclusively available to new international students beginning a full-time course in the academic year 2020-21. 2. Students must hold an unconditional offer of a place on a full-time programme at the Queen’s University Belfast campus starting in the academic year 2020-21. The following deadlines apply: >Postgraduate students enroling in September 2020 must pay 90% of their Year 1 fees by 23.59 BST on 15 September 2020 to avail of the discount, subject to Terms and Conditions. >Postgraduate students enroling in January 2021 must pay 90% of their Year 1 fees by 23.59 BST on 30 November 2020 to avail of the discount, subject to Terms and Conditions. 3. Students wishing to avail of the Early Bird Reward discount must email proof of transfer to Students who do not confirm their payment to internationalscholarships@qub.ac.uk may find their discount is not applied. 4. The discount is awarded for the first year only, and is deducted from gross tuition fees. 5. The EBR may be used in conjunction with other International Office scholarships, namely: Postgraduate Taught & Postgraduate Research Scholarships; Queen’s Family Scholarship; QMS Global Scholarships. EBR may also be used in conjunction with CQC scholarships. 6. Where Queen’s University Belfast has agreed discounted tuition fees with partner institutions, those students should contact the International Office by email internationalscholarships@qub.ac.uk to confirm their eligibility. 7. Students must be classified as international fee-paying students paying the international tuition fee rate in order to be considered for this discount. Students paying NI/GB/EU fees are not eligible for the Early Bird Reward discount. 8. Students must be self-funded. 9. If you are in receipt of funding (either tuition fees or tuition fees and living costs) from an external sponsorship body such as Government, a charity or a private organisation you will not be eligible for the Early Bird Reward discount 10. The following programmes are excluded from eligibility for the Early Bird Reward discount: >Postgraduate: PG Certificate and PG Diploma programmes, MTh Theology. >ALL Distance Learning programmes, foundation degree programmes and non-standard fee courses, including part-time programmes. > External PhD programmes where students only undertake part of their research at Queen’s University. >Higher Doctorates - Doctor of Divinity (DD), Doctor of Laws (LLD), Doctor of Letters (DLitt), Doctor of Science (DSc), Doctor of Science (Economics) (DSc(Econ)), Doctor of Science, (Education) (DSc(Ed)) and Doctor of Social Science (DSSc) > PhD programmes by Published Works

Queen's Loyalty Scholarship

Students must hold an offer of a place on a full-time and complete duration programme at the Queen’s University Belfast campus, starting in the academic year 2020-21 and prior to commencement of study have met any academic and language conditions attached to their offer as stated in their offer letter. 1. Students must be classified as international fee-paying students paying the international tuition fee rate in order to be considered for this discount. Students paying NI/GB/EU fees are not eligible for the Queen’s Loyalty Scholarship. 2. Students must complete an application form via the Queen’s University Belfast website to verify their previous programme of study. 3. The discount is awarded for the first year of study only, and is deducted from gross tuition fees upon enrolment. The scholarship cannot be used in place of any required deposit and no cash alternative is available. 4. Students must register on their degree programme by the start date outlined in their offer. 5. If you wish to defer your entry to the University your scholarship will not be transferred 6. Students must be self-funded. 7. Where Queen’s University Belfast has agreed discounted tuition fees with partner institutions, those students should contact the International Office by email to confirm their eligibility. 8. If you are in receipt of funding (either tuition fees or tuition fees and living costs) from an external sponsorship body such as Government, a charity or a private organisation you will not be eligible for an International Office Undergraduate Scholarship.This excludes students in receipt of educational loans. 9. International Office Postgraduate Scholarship

This award is exclusively for new International students beginning their first year of full-time postgraduate taught study at Queen's University Belfast in the academic year 2020-21 who meet the conditions of their academic offer. Students must hold an offer for a place on a full-time postgraduate taught programme at the Queen’s University Belfast campus, starting in the academic year 2020-21 and prior to commencement of study have met any academic and language conditions attached to their offer as stated in their offer letter. Students must be classified as international fee-paying students paying the international tuition fee rate in order to be considered for this discount. Students paying NI/GB/EU fees are not eligible for the International Office Postgraduate Taught Scholarship. The discount is awarded for the first year of study only, and is deducted from gross tuition fees upon enrolment. The scholarship cannot be used in lieu of any required deposit and no cash alternative is available. Any International Office Postgraduate Taught Scholarship awarded is for entry to Queen’s University Belfast in the autumn semester of the academic year 2020-21 and cannot be used for 2021-22 entry or any other year. If you wish to defer your entry to the University your scholarship will not be transferred. However you will be automatically assessed if you chose to defer your entry until 2021-22. Students must be self-funded. Where Queen’s University Belfast has agreed discounted tuition fees with partner institutions, those students should contact the International Office by email to confirm their eligibility. If you are in receipt of funding (either tuition fees or tuition fees and living costs) from an external sponsorship body such as Government, a charity or a private organisation you will not be eligible for an International Office Postgraduate Taught Scholarship.This excludes students in receipt of educational loans. The following programmes are excluded from eligibility for the International Office Postgraduate Taught Scholarship: > Postgraduate: PG Certificate and PG Diploma programmes, MTh Theology, All Queen's Management Postgraduate Taught programmes > ALL Distance Learning programmes, foundation degree programmes and non-standard fee courses, including part-time programmes.

No separate application for this scholarship is required. If you are holding an offer for an eligible programme and meet the criteria as set out in these terms & conditions, you will automatically be awarded an International Office Postgraduate Taught Scholarship upon enrolment.
