Carbohydrate Chemistry Research Scholarship

Eligibility requirements

If you're applying for this scholarship to complete your research masters, you must have one of:

  • a completed recognised bachelor honours degree
  • a completed recognised bachelor degree or equivalent in a related field with a minimum grade point average (GPA) score of 5.00 (on QUT's 7 point scale)
  • relevant professional or research experience (as determined by the faculty).

If you're applying for this scholarship to complete your PhD, you must:

  • have a research masters degree (or equivalent) in chemistry or a related field (if applying for PhD)
  • fulfill our Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) admission criteria, including English language requirements.

Preferably you will have organic chemistry and analytical experience in spectrometry and chromatography techniques.

WH Bryan Earth Sciences PhD Scholarship

Eligibility requirements

You must:

  • be applying for a PhD in the area of earth sciences and not yet received or accepted a PhD scholarship offer or be enrolled and commenced a PhD. The WH Bryan Earth Sciences PhD Scholarship is to support a new student and project.

Applications are open to future PhD candidates hosted by Queensland universities that teach in the earth sciences:

  • QUT
  • University of Queensland
  • James Cook University.

Australian Government Research Training Program (RTP) Stipend (International)

Eligibility requirements

The Australian Government requires you to:

  • be an international student enrolled in an accredited research degree (HDR course of study) at and Australian higher education provider (HEP)
  • not be receiving income from another source to support your general living costs while studying, if that income is greater than 75% of your RTP stipend rate. Income not related to your course of study or income received for you course of study but not for the purposes of supporting general living costs is not to be taken into account.

If you also hold an Australian Government RTP Fees Offset scholarship, you must:

  • not be receiving an equivalent award or scholarship from the Commonwealth that's designed to offset research degree (HDR) fees.

You must register your interest for a scholarship when you apply for your course by completing the 'Scholarship application' section of the research degree application form. Indicate on your application that you want to be considered for a scholarship as part of our annual scholarship round.

Graduate School of Business Women in Leadership Excellence Scholarship

  • apply for and receive an offer to study one of:
  1. Executive Graduate Certificate in Business Administration (GS89). Completing this course allows you to progress to the Executive Master of Business Administration (GS50), with the graduate certificate making up 48 credit points of the Executive MBA.
  2. Graduate Certificate in Business (Managing and Leading in the Public Sector) (GZ34). If you're a Queensland Public Service employee, you must have your employer's support to study this course.

  • identify as a leader, and be willing to contribute to the QUT Graduate School of Business and the Fostering Executive Women program as an active member and ambassador.

Getting Started Indigenous Scholarship

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this scholarship you must:

  • be an Indigenous Australian or Torres Strait Islander and provide Confirmation of Aboriginality to the Oodgeroo Unit at QUT
  • be graduating from Year 12 in 2018
  • have completed high school in Australia and be an Australian citizen
  • show evidence of academic ability in high school or TAFE results
  • be starting university for the first time in Semester 1, 2019
  • demonstrate a commitment to a career in business
  • show leadership qualities.

You must also have applied for through QTAC for a part-time or full-time place in a Bachelor of Business single or double degree, including if you're seeking admission through the Centralised Assessment Selection Program (CASP).

  • the holder of a permanent humanitarian visa
  • an international student who has completed high school in Australia or an Australian curriculum overseas.

To keep your scholarship, you must:

  • remain enrolled full-time
  • maintain a grade point average (GPA) of 5.00 or higher in each semester.

You can:

take a leave of absence for up to 12 months (in accordance with our student rules), but only after you have completed one full-time semester of study. You won't receive scholarship payments during this time.

You will receive one of: 80 scholarships worth AUD $30,000 each. You can't:

  • defer your scholarship offer. If you defer your course, you can reapply for the Vice-Chancellor's Scholarship the following year, provided that you haven't undertaken university study in the meantime
  • hold any other scholarship, except an Equity Scholarship. Refer to the terms and conditions for more information about which scholarship types you can hold concurrently with this scholarship. If you have any questions about holding other scholarships, contact our Scholarships Coordinator.
