You must:

have an honours or masters degree in a relevant area (e.g. computer science, mechanical or electrical engineering, mechatronics or physics)

have strong competencies and interest in one or more of:

  • robotics
  • computer vision
  • signal processing
  • programming (e.g. C++ or Python)

intend to apply for a PhD (hosted by our Science and Engineering Faculty), meet all the entry requirements for that course, and be able to conduct your research in Brisbane

plan to conduct your PhD research on one of these topics:

  • dense 3D modelling of deformable human body parts
  • active 3D multi-modal situation awareness system for assistive robotics systems.

You must:

  • have applied for and received an offer to study a Bachelor of Business (Honours) (Management) or the Bachelor of Business (Honours) (Human Resource Management).

You are not eligible for this scholarship if you hold another scholarship.

Application details

You must apply for and receive an offer for a Bachelor of Business (Honours) (Management) or Bachelor of Business (Honours) (Human Resource Management) before you can apply for a scholarship. Complete the application form. As part of your application you'll need to write:

  • a 300-word statement about why you want to study an honours degree in our School of Management
  • a 300-word statement about your study or career plans after your honours year
  • a 1,500-word project outline for your proposed honours thesis topic.

Submit your completed application form and project outline to our School of Management. We might request that you meet additional eligibility criteria

Design and Health ARC PhD Scholarship

Eligibility requirements

You must meet the entry requirements for a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) at QUT, including any English language requirements for international students.

You must also:

  • meet QUT's criteria for Honours 1 equivalence
  • plan to research a topic that aligns with the ARC research priorities
  • be able to enrol as a full-time student
  • have a portfolio of design work that demonstrates your knowledge of methods used in experience, interaction, graphic and interface design
  • have practical knowledge of graphic design software such as Adobe creative suite.
  • It would be advantageous to have:
  • experience in designing communication resources for health contexts
  • knowledge and understanding of adolescent mental health
  • an interest in and awareness of health technology.

You can't apply if you:

  • hold a research doctorate degree or equivalent research qualification
  • are receiving an equivalent award, scholarship or salary to complete a research degree that provides a benefit greater than 75% of this scholarship's stipend rate.

Conditions

The scholarship duration is up to 3 years. You are expected to complete your work and submit your thesis for external examination within this timeframe.

Vice-Chancellor's Scholarship (Academic)

Eligibility requirements

You must:

  • be graduating Year 12 in 2016 or have graduated Year 12 in 2015
  • have an OP 1 or 2 (or equivalent) excluding bonus OPs/ranks
  • be starting university for the first time in 2017

You must also be one of:

  • an Australian or New Zealand citizen
  • a permanent resident
  • the holder of a permanent humanitarian visa
  • an international student who has completed high school in Australia.

To keep your scholarship, you must:

  • remain enrolled full-time
  • maintain a grade point average (GPA) of 5.00 or higher in each semester.

You can:

take a leave of absence for up to 12 months (in accordance with our student rules), but only after you have completed one full-time semester of study. You won't receive scholarship payments during this time.

You'll receive one of: 90 scholarships worth AUD $30,000 each. The scholarship will be paid as a stipend of AUD $3,750 after the HECS-HELP census date of each semester for the standard duration of your course, for up to four years (AUD $7,500 per year). 15 scholarships worth AUD $10,000 each. The scholarship will be paid as a study stipend of AUD $2,500 after the HECS-HELP census date of each semester for the first four semesters of your course.

Equity Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Bursaries

Eligibility requirements

You must be:

  • currently enrolled as a student
  • experiencing financial difficulty
  • undertaking a work integrated learning (WIL) placement.

You can't apply for this bursary if you're a:

  • single-unit study student
  • cross-institutional student
  • QUT International College (QUTIC) student.

Application details

You'll need to contact International Student Services. They will assess your financial situation and determine your eligibility for a WIL bursary. All appointments are confidential and free. You will need to provide some documentation so we can assess your eligibility for a WIL bursary. We will discuss this with you at your appointment. Most documents can be accessed using a smart device or computer. Before we approve the bursary, we'll check your enrolment status to make sure that you're still enrolled and eligible. We'll email you to let you know what to do next.

Vice-Chancellor's Scholarship (Creative Industries)

Eligibility requirements

You must be one of:

  • an Australian or New Zealand citizen
  • a permanent resident
  • the holder of a permanent humanitarian visa
  • an international student who has completed high school in Australia.

You must:

  • remain enrolled full-time
  • maintain a grade point average (GPA) of 5.00 or higher in each semester.

You can:

take a leave of absence for up to 12 months (in accordance with our student rules), but only after you have completed one full-time semester of study. You won't receive scholarship payments during this time.

You can't:

  • defer your scholarship offer. If you defer your course, you can reapply for the Vice-Chancellor's Scholarship the following year, provided that you haven't undertaken university study in the meantime
  • hold any other scholarship, except an Equity Scholarship. Refer to the terms and conditions for more information about which scholarship types you can hold concurrently with this scholarship. If you have any questions about holding other scholarships, contact our Scholarships Coordinator.

There is no application process. We will choose the scholarship recipients from the pool of eligible Creative Industries course applications.

Value details

Dan David Prize

Eligibility requirements

You must be a doctoral student or postdoctoral researcher studying topics related to:

  • archaeology
  • natural sciences
  • literature
  • astronomy.

Value details

You'll receive: one of 20 available scholarships of USD $15,000. There is also an opportunity for outstanding and exceptional individuals and institutions to be awarded a USD $1 million prize for contributions to humanity.

Vice-Chancellor's Scholarship (Elite Visual and Performing Arts)

You must be one of:

  • an Australian or New Zealand citizen a permanent resident
  • the holder of a permanent humanitarian visa
  • an international student who has completed high school in Australia.

You must:

  • remain enrolled full-time
  • maintain a grade point average (GPA) of 5 or above in each semester.

You can:

take a leave of absence for up to 12 months (in accordance with our student rules), but only after you have completed one full-time semester of study. You won't receive scholarship payments during a leave of absence.

You can't:

  • defer your scholarship offer. If you defer your course, you can re-apply for the Vice-Chancellor's Scholarship the next year, provided that you haven't undertaken university study in the meantime
  • hold any other scholarship, except an Equity Scholarship. If you have any questions about holding other scholarships, contact our Scholarships Coordinator.

Su Mon Wong Scholarship for Excellence in Marketing

You must be studying a marketing major in one of:

  • a Bachelor of Business (BS05 or BS08)
  • a Master of Business (BS11, BS16 or BS17)
  • a double degree in business.

Integrated marketing communication (IMC) majors are not eligible to apply.

QUT Write Up Scholarship

Study level

Postgraduate

Eligibility requirements

You must:

  • have recently submitted your thesis for external examination, and not yet started thesis revisions
  • be preparing and submitting articles for refereed publications
  • be able to write full-time, or part-time if you can demonstrate that you're unable to write full-time
  • have the approval of your supervisor and faculty.

You can't:

  • be working full-time.

Application details

Complete a Write Up Scholarship application form and submit it to your faculty via your principal supervisor.

Attach a project plan that outlines:

  • the title of your article(s)
  • the publication(s) you're targeting
  • a timeline featuring milestones to be met in preparing the article(s).

If you're an international student, you must provide proof that you have an appropriate visa for the duration of the scholarship.

If you're studying part-time, you must provide proof of your exceptional circumstances.

Value details

You'll receive a living allowance while you're preparing and submitting refereed publications after lodging your thesis for external examination. The allowance will be paid: for 3 months full-time or 6 months part-time at a level consistent with the current Research Training Program (RTP) Stipend (Domestic) rate.

Student Exchange Bursary (QUT Business School)

Eligibility requirements

You must:

  • be applying to study overseas on exchange
  • be approved to study at one of our listed partner institutions in 2017
  • have at least half of the units completed during your exchange credited back to your QUT degree.

Application details

To be considered for this bursary, apply for the student exchange program through the QUT Exchange Office. You don't need to apply separately to the QUT Business School for the bursary.

Value details

You'll receive: a bursary bonus of up to AUD $3,000, paid on top of the standard international exchange bursary, which you can use to cover any expenses on your exchange. Up to 2 scholarships are available at each institution. The maximum amount you can receive from the international exchange bursary and scholarship bonus combined is AUD $5,000. The amount for the international exchange bursary varies from year to year. In previous years, it has ranged between AUD $2,000 and AUD $2,500.

Burn The Floor Bursary

Eligibility requirements

You must be: enrolled in Bachelor of Entertainment Industries or studying an entertainment industries major; eligible to enrol in the unit Creative Industries Study Tour (KKB350) for Semester 1, 2017.

Conditions

You will be expected to use the bursary to undertake a Burn The Floor Study Tour.

You must:

  • remain enrolled full time in your course
  • maintain a passing GPA.

Application details

You must submit a: completed application form; cover letter that includes a personal statement about your commitment to a career in entertainment industries; one page innovative marketing concept proposal for a Burn the Floor Production; statutory declaration to confirm your statement is true.

Gerard Connolly Memorial Prize

Eligibility requirements

You must:

  • be an undergraduate, postgraduate or research law and justice student who was enrolled during the current academic year
  • have contributed to the community through volunteer or charitable work such as community legal centers, or organizations such as Queensland Cancer Fund and the Royal Blind Society.

You may: nominate yourself; be nominated by peers or lecturers. You must: complete the Gerard Connolly Memorial Prize application form; attach any relevant documentation; return it by the closing date. The successful applicant will be notified by both email and letter confirming the details of the prize.

Executive Dean's Scholars Program (Education)

Eligibility requirements

You must:

  • be currently enrolled full-time in:
  1. ED59 Bachelor of Education (Secondary)
  2. ED49 Bachelor of Education (Primary)
  3. ED39 Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood)
  • have completed three years equivalent study (288 credit points)
  • have a grade point average (GPA) of 6.5 or higher across your whole course
  • have passed every semester of study from commencement.

Triple Crown Scholarship for International Graduates in Australia

You will be considered for this scholarship if you:

  • have completed a qualifying course in Australia with the required academic results
  • meet minimum English language entry requirements of IELTS 6.5 (no sub scores below 6) or equivalent for direct admission to the degree program. If you are completing an English preparation course at QUT, you may be eligible for this scholarship once you have met the English language requirements
  • apply for and are accepted into either the Master of Business or Master of Business/Master of Business
  • apply for your masters course before the end of 2016
  • have a recognized comparable bachelor degree award with a grading scale approximately equivalent to a grade point average (GPA) of 6 on a 7-point scale.

You are not eligible for this scholarship if:

  • you study the Graduate Certificate in Business and Communication pathway course.

  • be enrolled in an eligible business course
  • have completed at least 96 credit points if you're an undergraduate student, or at least 48 credit points if you're a postgraduate student
  • have at least one semester full-time (or equivalent) still to complete when you return to QUT
  • be able to pay travel and living expenses while you're on exchange
  • meet minimum GPA requirements.

We will advertise opportunities to all students at QUT Business School as they become available. We'll provide further eligibility criteria and details closer to the application date. You can submit an expression of interest as opportunities become available.
