English Language Scholarship

Student requirements

The University assess your eligibility automatically and will communicate a scholarship award following your academic application. If students achieve an IELTS score of 0.5 above the minimum requirement for their course, they will be awarded £1,000, If they achieve an IELTS score of 1.0 above the minimum requirement for their course, they will be awarded £1,500. If students hold an English language test score other than an IELTS, they have the option to submit it and sit an interview with the English Language Centre. The University will then assess if they are eligible for an English language scholarship with a value of either £1,000 or £1,500.

Commonwealth Shared Scholarships

The scholarships are available to applicants wishing to study a Master of Public Health (MPH) from the least developed and lower middle-income countries who could not otherwise afford to study in the UK. The seven selected scholars will receive: Full-tuition fees Monthly stipend equivalent to £1084 An air ticket to and from their country of origin Some allowances for buying warm clothes and attending conferences.

Vice Chancellor's Scholarship

Student requirements

To be eligible to apply for the Vice-Chancellor's Scholarship, students will: Be an international fee-paying postgraduate taught degree offer holder, enrolling for the first time at Teesside University Start their course in September 2019 Submit an application for consideration. The Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship may not be used in conjunction with any other Teesside University Scholarship or Alumni Scholarship. Successful applicants may still receive the £500 discount for early payment of their fees. Successful recipients of the Vice-Chancellor's Scholarship will be required to act as an ambassador for the University for the duration of your studies, which may involve but is not limited to the following: representing Teesside University at Open Days contributing to marketing and promotional materials participating in international student events acting as a mentor to fellow students contributing to/creating a blog or vlog to report on your experience at Teesside University. You are also required to continue to engage with the University as a valued member of our global alumni.

Applicants are required to submit a personal statement as an application of no more than 500 words, which demonstrates: your outstanding attributes, both personal and academic your commitment to becoming a future global leader how you will use your Teesside University degree to achieve your future ambitions. A University panel will select applicants to receive the Vice-Chancellor's Scholarship based on the most promising students who meet the eligibility criteria.

Alumni Scholarship

Student requirements

Students who are an undergraduate international student (non-European Union) at Teesside University and wish to progress to postgraduate study, or if they complete a master's with us and progress a new postgraduate programme, they are eligible for a £1,000 alumni scholarship. They will only receive the bonus if they apply directly to us and don't use an agent and the £1,000 is awarded as a discount on your first-year fees for the next programme.
