The GMAT Expert, Kevin Rocci, from Magoosh recently had a chat with us- all about the GMAT, and we asked him if it was mandatory for a student to take the GMAT test to study abroad.

He responded to this saying that in the past, the answer to the question would have been a straight yes but recently business schools have also started accepting GRE scores. He, however, strongly recommends students, at this point, to continue taking the GMAT to acquire admissions in B schools.  He reasons out saying that this is so, simply because B schools know what to do with a GMAT score and that they have experience with it. He observes that B schools know how to rate students better with GMAT scores. He thinks it may be harder for them to compare a student’s GRE score with another student’s GMAT score. He still stresses that students presently do, however, have the chance to take the GRE instead if they prefer.
