The Scholarship shall be available to an applicant who:

  • Is an International Students as defined under the terms of the Education Services forOverseas Students Act 2000. Dependants of the staff of diplomatic or consular missions arealso eligible.
  • Has received an offer of admission into a postgraduate coursework program offered by theCollege to commence in teaching period for which they are applying for this award.
  • Will commence a postgraduate coursework program within the College during the intake forwhich they have applied for scholarship consideration.
  • Has not previously been a recipient of this ANU College of Business and EconomicsInternational Graduate Scholarship award.

Interested persons must first submit an application for admission to their program of choice at the University for the relevant semester.

ANU College of Business and Economics International Undergraduate Scholarship and Award

Eligibility requirements

The Scholarships shall be available to an applicant who:

  • Is an International Student as defined under the terms of the Education Services for Overseas Students Act 2000. Dependants of the staff of diplomatic or consular missions are also eligible.
  • Has achieved at an excellent level in their final years of schooling prior to commencing at ANU, as demonstrated by excellent academic results in their qualifications;
  • Is applying for admission to tertiary study at the ANU for the first time. Students transferring from other Australian or overseas institutions may still be eligible to receive this Scholarship;
  • Is successful or will be successful in receiving an offer of admission into a single or double undergraduate degree program offered by the ANU College of Business & Economics.

Important note: students applying for a double degree will not be eligible to receive the full program tuition unless both qualifications within the double degree are convened by the ANU College of Business & Economics. Students applying for a double degree combining an ANU College of Business & Economics undergraduate program with one from another College of the University may be considered for the College of Business & Economics International Undergraduate Award.

Applications can be made via the prescribed online application form.

Applicants only need to complete one online application form to register for consideration for both the College of Business & Economics International Undergraduate Scholarship and the College of Business & Economics International Undergraduate Award. All eligible applicants will firstly be considered for the International Undergraduate Scholarship. Once these scholarships have been allocated and accepted, then all remaining eligible applicants will be considered for the International Undergraduate Award.

Applications for students commencing in Semester 1 open 1 October and close 6tDecember of the year prior. Applications for students commencing in Semester 2 open on 1 April and close 31 May of that year.

Ruth Dobson Scholarship

Eligibility requirements

The Scholarship is available to an applicant who:

  • is an international student as defined under the terms of the Education Services for Overseas Students Act 2000;
  • has received an offer of admission by the APCD to commence the Master of Diplomacy program in the teaching period for which they are applying for this award;
  • will commence the Master's degree within the APCD for the first time and remain a full-time student;
  • is a citizen of a country in Latin America, Europe, Asia, North America or the Middle East; and
  • is not eligible for an Australia Award Scholarship or in receipt of another scholarship/s.

Application details

When applying for the Masters by coursework program offered by the APCD, eligible applicants for the Scholarship should submit the following:

  • A cover letter indicating their interest in being considered for the scholarship and making the case for being granted one;
  • A copy of your academic transcript/s
  • A current Curriculum Vitae
  • Two academic written references (or arrange to have these sent on your behalf to arrive by the closing date).

The above documents should be submitted to the Director of Studies, APCD.  These, together with the application for the program (made online), will be considered as the full application for the scholarship.

Hedley Bull Scholarship

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must meet the admission requirements of the Master of International Relations (Advanced). (MIR Adv).To be eligible for entry to the MIR (Adv), applicants must hold a Bachelor degree or international equivalent with a 70% average. All applicants must meet the University's English Language Admission Requirements.

When applying for the Master of International Relations (Advanced), eligible applicants for the Hedley Bull Scholarship should include a covering letter indicating their interest in being considered for the scholarship and making the case for being granted one. The covering letter together with the application for the Master of International Relations (Advanced) (including transcripts and references) will be considered as the full application for the scholarship.

T. B. Millar Scholarships

Eligibility requirements

The T.B. Millar Scholarships are available for new applicants to the Centre's Master Coursework programs who intend to study full-time. Applicants must meet the admission requirements of the Master Coursework programs offered by SDSC.

The successful candidate will be selected on the basis of academic performance and promise, and potential contribution to the wider field of strategic studies.

When applying for a Master Coursework program offered by SDSC, eligible applicants for the T.B. Millar Scholarship should submit the following:

  • a cover letter indicating their interest in being considered for the scholarship and making the case for being granted one;
  • a copy of your academic transcript/s;
  • a current Curriculum Vitae;
  • two academic written references (or arrange to have these sent on your behalf to arrive by the closing date).

Alex Rodgers Travelling Scholarship

Full-time current RSAA PhD student. A successful applicant is ineligible to apply again. International students.

The Alex Rodgers Travelling Scholarship is offered to one or two RSAA graduate students to travel abroad with direct relevance to their thesis work (It will not be awarded to fund an overseas observing run). The award is based on scientific merit of the program, benefit of the program to RSAA and the student, and the effective use of the funds from the scholarship.

ACTION Trust Honours Scholarships

Eligibility requirements

The scholarship shall be available for award each year to students who:

  • have been successful in gaining entry into the Honours year of a program of study through the Fenner School of Environment and Society or the Earth and Marine Science program in the Research School of Earth Sciences:
  • have a strong academic record;
  • are intending to undertake research in an area relating to the interests of the ACTION Trust and/or to environment and sustainability;
  • have willing and suitable supervision.

National Security Policy Scholarship

Eligibility requirements

The award is available each year to a prospective ANU student who has received an offer of admission from the College and is:

  • international student;
  • enrolling in the Master of National Security Policy or the Master of National Security Policy (Advanced) degree program;

The Scholarship shall be awarded in three (3) divisions:

Division 1: Employees of the Australian Public Service, or State and Territory equivalents
Division 2: International students

The Scholarship shall be awarded to an applicant who:

For Division 1: is an employee of the Australian Public Service or a State/Territory and has completed a Bachelor degree or international equivalent in a cognate discipline with a minimum of Distinction average or above.
For Division 2: is an international student and has completed a Bachelor degree with Honours or international equivalent in a cognate discipline with a minimum of Distinction average or above and meets the ANU English language requirements.

Application details

Applicants must provide:

  • A statement of aims of no more than 500 words to support their application
  • A current Curriculum Vitae of no more than 3 pages
  • Two (2) academic written references.

The Scholarship will normally be offered in first semester; however, if not taken up, the College may offer a Scholarship in the second semester of that year.

The award will be available to a prospective student who:

  • is an international student;
  • enrolled or enrolling full-time in a program of study for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy at the John Curtin School of Medical Research, Australian National University;
  • holds an Australian Bachelor Honours degree with First Class Honours or equivalent, and has research publications and/or relevant experience.

Students wanting to be considered for the scholarship in semester 1 must have applied for admission by the 31st October the year prior.   • have a strong academic record;

Australian Government Research Training Program (AGRTP) International Fee Offset Scholarship

The Commonwealth Scholarship Guidelines (Research) 2017 set the basis for the conditions of award and outline the basic eligibility requirements for this scholarship.

Selection Basis

Candidates are ranked and scholarships are awarded based on a competitive ranking process, to the top ranked candidates, subject to evidence they meet merit-based selection criteria, and subject to confirmation of a qualified supervisor, space and resources being available, in an area of research that is aligned with ANU research strategy.

The Australian Government Research Training Program InternationaI Fee Offset Scholarship:

  • covers tuition fees for 3 years with the possibility of two six month extensions.
