Research School of Economics Neil Vousden Memorial Scholarship

Postgraduate

Eligibility requirements

The Scholarship shall be available to a student who:

  • is an International student;
  • has applied for admission and will enrol into the Master of Economics; or
  • will have completed at least 24 units of study in the Master of Economics.

Benefits

Up to 2 awards valued at up to 33% of the value of the Australian Government Research Training Program (AGRTP) Stipend Scholarship are available each year. The award will be paid in two equal instalments after the census date for two semesters following the awarding of the scholarship, unless otherwise stated in the letter of offer.

ANU HDR Supplementary Scholarship

Eligibility requirements

Students enrolled in a research program who hold a base stipend scholarship.

Benefits

Supplementary scholarships only provide a stipend with no additional benefits.

Application details

No separate scholarship application is required as all eligible students will be automatically considered. In order to be considered for this scholarship in the main round of scholarship offers International students are required to apply for admission by 31 August. Colleges may offer these scholarships at other times throughout the year.

ANU College of Business and Economics International Merit Scholarship for Foundation Studies

Eligibility requirements

The Scholarship shall be available to an applicant who:

  • Is an International Students as defined under the terms of the Education Services for Overseas Students Act 2000. Dependants of the staff of diplomatic or consular missions are also eligible;
  • Has applied for admission to the University on the basis of successful completion of the Foundation Studies program at the ANU affiliated provider. Graduates of both the Standard and Extended Foundation Studies programs are eligible for consideration;
  • Has received an offer of admission into a single or double undergraduate degree program offered by the College which is to commence in the teaching period for which the applicant is offered this Scholarship.

The Scholarship shall be available to an applicant who:

  • Is an International Students as defined under the terms of the Education Services for Overseas Students Act 2000. Dependants of the staff of diplomatic or consular missions are also eligible.
  • Is a citizen of one of the countries specified by the College on their website.
  • Has received an offer of admission into a Graduate Diploma or Masters by coursework program offered by the College to commence in teaching period for which they are applying for this scholarship.
  • Will commence a Graduate Diploma or Masters by coursework program within the College for the first time.

HDR Fee Remission Merit Scholarship

To be eligible for a Fee Remission Merit Scholarship a student must:

  • be enrolled in a postgraduate research program;

  • have been ranked as part of a competitive scholarship process for another ANU or external scholarship.

Benefits

The scholarship covers the tuition fees for the standard duration of a PhD or Master of Philosophy program.

Scholarship in Regolith Science

Eligibility requirements

The award shall be available to a prospective or continuing ANU student who is:

  • an international student;
  • enrolled or enrolling in an Honours or coursework Masters program in the Colleges in one of the following programs:
  1. Bachelor of Science;
  2. Bachelor of Science (Advanced) Honours;
  3. Bachelor of Philosophy;
  4. Master of Earth Sciences (Advanced);
  • undertaking a research project that is consistent with the broad field of regolith science.  Projects can include laboratory and/or field and/or modelling studies. 

Selection basis

Selection will be made on the basis of academic merit, and in accordance with the eligibility criteria and application requirements. A personal interview may be required if deemed appropriate by the Selection Committee.

Research School of Finance, Actuarial Studies and Statistics Foundation Scholarship

Eligibility requirements

The award is available each year to a prospective ANU student who:

  • is an international student.
  • is enrolled in, or has been granted entry into either the Bachelor of Finance, or Bachelor of Statistics, following successful completion of a Foundation Program.

Benefits

The award will cover 10% of the recipient's ANU International Student Fees (ISF), for the standard full time duration of the Bachelor degree in which the student is enrolled (up to 6 semesters).

The award will be applied to the recipient's fees at the beginning of each semester.

Clark Davis Ivins Memorial Travel Grant

To be eligible for the award the applicant must be an ANU student who is:

  • an international student; and
  • enrolled in a Bachelor of International Security Studies; and
  • participating in a Global Learning Program offered by the ANU

Benefits

The Clark Davis Ivins Memorial Travel Grant provides financial support to students in the Bachelor of International Security Studies undertaking a global learning experience as part of their academic program. The amount of the award will be determined annually and published at the time of applications opening. The grant is paid in a single instalment to the recipient prior to their approved travel.

CECS VTARA Honours Scholarship

Eligibility requirements

The award is available each year to a current or prospective ANU student who:  

(a) is an international student;  

(b) is enrolled in an embedded Honours program offered by the ANU College of Engineering & Computer Science and has completed a minimum of 96 units of ENGN, COMP or CECS courses OR is enrolled in a single Honours year program offered by the ANU College of Engineering & Computer Science in the year of scholarship offer;  

(c) has a strong academic record represented by a minimum career GPA of 5.5/7.0 at ANU;  

(d) has demonstrated interest in areas related to Information, Energy, Environmental Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Software Engineering.

(e) can demonstrate the experience and / or knowledge necessary to deal with the potential difficulties of an overseas internship in a developing country.

Applications are called for at the beginning of each calendar year with a closing date set by the College.

The application must be submitted on the prescribed electronic form and supporting documentation forwarded separately to the College prior to the closing date published on the ANU scholarships website.

The Scholarship is valued at AUD $15,000 per student per year with an additional AUD $2,650 travel grant, which will enable recipients to complete the industry experience component of their scholarship.

PBSA ANU Partnership - Spotless Scholarship

Eligibility requirements

The award is available each year to a prospective ANU student who is:

  • an international student;
  • enrolling in an Honours year;
  • Undertaking an honours project that aligns with Spotless' interests of Engineering, Physics, Environmental Science or a related field.  Recipients of the award may be studying in any School within the College of Science, or College of Engineering and Computer Science.

Selection

Selection is made on the basis of academic merit and the relevance of the proposal to contribute to the relevant fields of study (i.e. Engineering, Physics, Environmental Science or related fields). The successful proposal will provide a relevant contribution to improve the efficiency, performance and/or sustainability of the built environment at the ANU.

Application details

In order to apply for the scholarship, applicants are required to submit a statement of no more than 1000 words outlining:

  • Area of Study
  • Aims
  • Thesis
  • Methodology
  • Timetable/program
  • Planned outputs
  • Potential benefits to be derived (ie. savings, improved process, understanding etc...)
  • Potential commercialisation (if any)
  • Practical assistance or access to buildings required (if any)
  • Timing of reporting

In addition, the application should contain your name, ANU ID number, and contact details (email address, postal address and phone number).

  • Be enrolled as a graduate student at ANU.
  • Be enrolled as a candidate for an ANU award on a full-time basis.

  • Not be in receipt of a substantial scholarship or financial assistance from any other source over AUD $5,000 eg Residential Hall Bursary. Recipients of the ANU Access Scholarship are still eligible.

This scholarship is for RSAA students enrolled in the Master of Astronomy and Astrophysics (Advanced) program.

Selection basis

The Scholarship will be awarded based on:

  • Academic merit.
  • Preliminary commitment for appropriate supervision.
  • Reports from two referees who are familiar with the applicant's work.

Students will be considered for the award if they indicate they wish to be considered for the scholarship on their application and if two referee reports for the student have been received by the Research School of Astronomy and Astrophysics. Students may also request to be considered for this scholarship at any time of the year.

Peter McGregor HDR Supplementary Scholarship

Eligibility requirements

The award is available each year to a new student who is enrolled in the PhD program at the Research School of Astronomy and Astrophysics and is working on a project in astronomy and astrophysics that incorporates instrumentation development or innovative use of instrumentation.  The student must also have completed all required milestones to the satisfaction of the Delegated Authority.

ACTION Trust Honours Scholarships

Eligibility requirements

The scholarship shall be available for award each year to students who:

  • have been successful in gaining entry into the Honours year of a program of study through the Fenner School of Environment and Society or the Earth and Marine Science program in the Research School of Earth Sciences:
  • have a strong academic record;
  • are intending to undertake research in an area relating to the interests of the ACTION Trust and/or to environment and sustainability;
  • have willing and suitable supervision.

Selection Basis

The scholarship shall be awarded principally on academic merit. The Selection Committee may also take into consideration the field of study which the candidate is developing for their thesis the availability of suitable supervision, the applicant's previous academic record, and reports from two academic referees familiar with the applicant's work (if required).

  • a statement of no more than one page in length describing the intended research, its relevance to environment and sustainability and the motivation for undertaking research on this topic;

Hedley Bull Scholarship

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must meet the admission requirements of the Master of International Relations (Advanced). (MIR Adv).To be eligible for entry to the MIR (Adv), applicants must hold a Bachelor degree or international equivalent with a 70% average. All applicants must meet the University's English Language Admission Requirements.

Benefits

The scholarship pays the tuition fee for up to four full-time sessions (semesters). This amounts to 72 units of graduate coursework and a 24-unit thesis session.

When applying for the Master of International Relations (Advanced), eligible applicants for the Hedley Bull Scholarship should include a covering letter indicating their interest in being considered for the scholarship and making the case for being granted one. The covering letter together with the application for the Master of International Relations (Advanced) (including transcripts and references) will be considered as the full application for the scholarship.

T. B. Millar Scholarship

Eligibility requirements

The T.B. Millar Scholarships are available for new applicants to the Centre's Master Coursework programs who intend to study full-time. Applicants must meet the admission requirements of the Master Coursework programs offered by SDSC.

The successful candidate will be selected on the basis of academic performance and promise, and potential contribution to the wider field of strategic studies.

Benefits

The scholarship pays the tuition fee for the two core courses (or their equivalents) for a total of 24 units of coursework.

When applying for a Master Coursework program offered by SDSC, eligible applicants for the T.B. Millar Scholarship should submit the following:

  • a cover letter indicating their interest in being considered for the scholarship and making the case for being granted one;
  • a copy of your academic transcript/s;
  • a current Curriculum Vitae;
  • two academic written references (or arrange to have these sent on your behalf to arrive by the closing date).
