Since February 2024, ARU and Writtle University College have undergone a merger, together becoming ARU Writtle. Writtle is a long-established college with more than 125 years of history, and specialist expertise in subject areas of agriculture, horticulture, equine and canine studies, and animal management. ARU Writtle is located within a large site, including 150 hectares of open fields, farmland and landscaped gardens, and will continue to offer its full range of degree courses. The campus supports a comprehensive range of specialised teaching facilities and educational spaces, as well as several attractive and historic buildings including the ivy-covered Main Building and Hall.

New for 2024/25, ARU are awarding scholarships and discounts of between GBP 2,000 and GBP 7,000 to international students starting an undergraduate course.

The faculty is the largest provider of health and social care courses in the East of England. Having educated nurses, midwives and social workers for over 25 years, its courses are designed with the students’ careers in mind. Anglia Ruskin University has invested heavily in the nursing and healthcare facilities in its Chelmsford, Cambridge and Peterborough campuses. Here, students can learn in skills rooms, mock operating theatres and wards. ARU Science Centre students can enjoy the SuperLab complex, which features state-of-the-art science labs, a physiology lab and a pharmaceutical research lab.
Optometry students study at the University Eye Clinic with qualified professionals; it boasts 16 fully equipped testing rooms and the latest optometric equipment such as an optical coherence tomographer, video slitlamps, and videokeratoscopes.
