Edge Hill University delivers a superb academic and university experience, which leads to significant career enhancing opportunities. Beyond the lecture theatre, the university provides a variety of extra activities to help students stand out from the crowd in the ever-changing graduate careers market.
From global opportunities like studying abroad to learning a language, gaining an internship placement or taking a paid sandwich year between Year 2 and Year 3 of a degree, the university works hard to ensure that however its students plan to take their first steps after graduation, they’ll be ideally prepared for success.
The university also offers an award-winning on-site careers service, offering any support and guidance students need for their future. This can include interview training, CV writing, and access to career fairs and employment workshops. In addition, the careers service is available to support international students to find part-time and voluntary work during their studies.
This support is reflected in a particularly high graduate employment rate, with 96.2 percent of students employed or in further study 15 months after graduating (Graduate Outcomes 2025) and a top 3 ranking in the North West for career prospects (Whatuni Student Choice Awards 2025).
It’s an exciting time to be a student at Edge Hill University, recently awarded University of the Year for Student Experience (Daily Mail University Guide 2026). New campus developments opened in 2024 including modern ensuite accommodation facilities, a brand-new life sciences building, and a fully revamped students union, designed in collaboration with current students to serve as the vibrant social heart of the campus.
This is all part of a GBP 35 million student life redevelopment plan, which aims to enhance the extra-curricular facilities and services available to Edge Hill students every day.
A key feature of the redevelopment is the brand-new GBP 8.5 million student union, a multi-use facility offering flexible indoor spaces for a variety of student activities. The building also includes outdoor social areas for recreation and temporary events, as well as dedicated rooms for the university’s clubs and special interest societies. The union is connected to the wider university community through interactive technologies and student-focused programming, creating a dynamic campus atmosphere that encourages students to achieve their personal and academic goals.
