Northumbria University is ideally located in the heart of Newcastle-upon-Tyne in the North East of England. Northumbria ranks in the UK top 40 for graduate prospects, both for the number of students achieving a First or 2:1 grade and for the above-average number of students in high-skilled jobs or further study within 15 months of leaving (The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2023). Northumbria puts more graduates into highly skilled jobs in the North East than any other university, playing a huge part in the regeneration of Newcastle and the North East.

Northumbria has achieved a silver rating overall in the 2023 Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) thanks to the inspiring teaching and research-rich education experience by students and the outstanding range of opportunities this creates.
The university's student outcomes were awarded a gold rating for being "outstanding", while its student experience was judged as "very high quality", attaining a silver award.
Northumbria also places 15th in the UK for 'value added' for students whilst at university. Value added is an analysis of students' degree results with their entry qualifications to show how effectively they are taught (The Guardian University Guide 2025).
