The University of Hull is the 14th-oldest university in England, founded in the year 1927, and enjoys a proud heritage of academic quality with a history of creating transformative research. The university is situated in the city of Hull, a very vibrant, student-friendly and affordable city.
It is home to over 15,000 students and has a wide choice of subjects to choose from, including accounting and finance, environmental science, computer science for games programming and many more.
Hull is known for its research expertise in maritime history, nanotechnology, social justice, environmental technologies, healthcare and 3D visualization. The university’s world-leading research has been recognised in the results of the long-awaited Research Excellence Framework (REF 2021). The results, as reported by THE, rank the University of Hull as 55 (joint) out 157 institutions, marking another significant success for the university as it moves up the rankings. The University of Hull is one of the highest climbers – increasing its overall ranking by 17 places from 72 (REF 2014) to 55 (joint). For research impact, the university has climbed 23 places to 42 (from joint 65th in 2014).
In November 2019, the university announced its ambition to be Carbon Neutral by 2027. It plans on delivering this initiative by preparing outstanding graduates to help solve critical, complex, global challenges and thought provoking, game changing research that is advancing knowledge to inform policy and practice.
The university has undergone a GBP 300 million re-development to improve its infrastructure and facilities. The university offers great sports facilities on campus, along with an award-winning library, learning spaces, a café, and an exhibition and art gallery.

The Faculty of Health Sciences is a major contributor to the region's healthcare workforce and carries out world-leading research on critical issues.
This pioneering faculty includes the Hull York Medical School and teaches subject areas including biomedical and forensic science, criminology, health, nursing and midwifery, medicine, psychology, social work, and sport, health and exercise science.
The faculty unites leading academics with state-of-the-art facilities. The university delivers teaching and research across a broad range of science and engineering areas.
