University of Auckland Law School Postgraduate Awards

Eligibility requirements

Students who have been offered an Award must meet all requirements for admission into one of the University of Auckland’s law postgraduate degree programmes in order to take up the Award offer.

It is a requirement that the awardee(s) must enrol and begin their studies by 16 July 2018.

In exceptional circumstances, applicants may obtain approval from the Dean of Law for a deferred commencement date.

The Award may not he held concurrently with another University of Auckland Masters/ Honours / PGDip Scholarship or any other award or grant unless the regulations for that award or grant permit this and The Dean of The Faculty of Law (or nominee) agrees.

Murray Wren Doctoral Scholarship in Architecture

Eligibility requirements

The purpose of this Scholarship is to encourage and support students undertaking study in Architecture, especially where this funding would make a significant contribution to their financial needs. One Scholarship will be awarded for a period of up to three years, and will comprise a stipend. The Scholarship will be awarded to a PhD candidate who has paid the fees, or arranged to pay the fees, for full-time enrolment in a PhD in Architecture, in the Faculty of Creative Arts and Industries at the University of Auckland. The Scholarship is tenable by international students who are eligible to pay domestic fees.

Commonwealth Scholarships

Eligibility requirements

These scholarships provide opportunities for individuals from selected developing Commonwealth countries to undertake masters or PhD studies in New Zealand. As with other New Zealand Aid Programme funded scholarships, Commonwealth Scholarships play an important role in addressing human resource development needs of developing countries.
The scholarships are awarded to candidates of strong academic merit who are expected to make a significant contribution to the development of their home country following completion of their studies.

University of Auckland Doctoral Scholarships

Study level

Eligibility requirements

The University will be awarding University of Auckland Doctoral Scholarships to high-achieving doctoral candidates applying for admission to an approved doctoral programme1 at the University of Auckland for 2018. Scholarships are guaranteed for all ‘straight-A’ students, provided their most recent qualifying programme was completed at a New Zealand university.
 

New doctoral applicants with a grade point average (GPA) of 8.00 or above, from their most recent qualifying programme, will be guaranteed a scholarship provided the qualifying programme was completed at a New Zealand university.

New Māori and domestic3 Pacific doctoral applicants with a GPA of 7.50 or above, from their most recent qualifying programme, will be guaranteed a scholarship provided the qualifying programme was completed at a New Zealand university.

When you apply for a place at the University, you will have the opportunity to confirm whether or not you also wish to be considered for a University of Auckland Doctoral Scholarship — you don’t need to apply separately.

There are no scholarship "rounds" or application forms. This means you can apply for a place on a doctoral programme when you are ready, safe in the knowledge that you will also be assessed  for the scholarship when your grades are confirmed.

Scholarship offers will be made alongside offers of places in doctoral programmes.

Doctoral stipends are increasing for 2018 to NZ $27,600 p.a. (plus domestic fees), with the possibility of a six-month extension. There will be an annual cost-of-living adjustment to the doctoral stipend.
