School of Biosciences International Scholarships

To be considered for the award of £2,000 applicants must accept an offer for one of the above programmes before 30th June 2018. In addition, applicants must satisfy all conditions of their offer by 31st July 2018. The award is made at the end of the first three months of the student’s registration. The award is dependent on continued good academic and financial standing including full payment of tuition fees. The School of Biosciences reserves the right not to allocate this award to any individual applicant it considers ineligible. Scholarship holders would be expected to undertake reasonable duties to support the external profile of the School of Biosciences, for instance assisting with Open Days, outreach with the local community, working with the International Development team and promoting the School of Biosciences in their home countries. Kent Law School Taught Masters Overseas Scholarships

Detailed Rules: • Applicants must have submitted a separate application for study on the Kent LLM at the Kent Law School in Canterbury in order to be considered for an Overseas Scholarship • The scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic excellence • Where candidates are rated equivalent in terms of academic excellence, their financial circumstances will (if possible) be taken into account in deciding on an award • The number of scholarships to be awarded will be at the discretion of the Law School • An applicant should apply for the award of the scholarship as outlined below • In order to take up a scholarship, it will be necessary for an applicant to meet all of the conditions specified in their offer of a place on the Kent LLM • Scholarships may not be deferred • Applicants who are unsuccessful, or who are unable to take up the offer of a scholarship, may apply for funding in subsequent years • Any scholarship offered must be firmly accepted by signing the University’s Terms and Conditions and returning these within one month of the date of the letter from the University’s Scholarship Unit enclosing the Terms and Conditions. If not so accepted, the offer will automatically be withdrawn without further intimation to the applicant • Students who are successful in the application will be considered Kent LLM Scholars and will have the opportunity to act as LLM Ambassadors Information to be provided by applicants: An application should make a case for the award of the scholarship to the applicant. Applicants are reminded to ensure that their academic referees have submitted full references in support of their LLM application for a place on the programme. A separate reference for the scholarship is not required. Applicants may also submit a limited number of supporting documents, as they think appropriate. Kent Business School International Research Scholarship

Successful candidates will demonstrate excellent research potential and will have obtained a First or 2:1 Undergraduate degree, along with a Master's with Distinction, in a relevant subject (current Masters students can submit a partial transcript). Applicants must have a minimum overall score of 7.0 in an IELTS test. This requirement is waived, if an applicant is a national of a majority English-speaking country, or has completed a qualification equivalent to a UK Bachelor's degree in a majority English-speaking country. Successful applications will normally meet all of the qualifications criteria (degrees and IELTs score). However, applicants falling short of these but with an exceptional research proposal and references, may be considered. Open to applicants from any country. Please note that overseas students must have the appropriate documentation to evidence eligibility to work in the UK. Further information can be found on these guidance pages. Kent Business School Director's International Scholarship

International Students with a 2:1 or First Class degree (or equivalent) Applicants must be classed as overseas fee status and hold an international passport. Applicants must hold or be expecting a 2: 1 or First Class degree (or equivalent). Applicants must apply online via the Scholarship Application Form after accepting a formal offer to study onto an MSc programme at Kent Business School for September entry. Applicants must submit as part of the online scholarship application an essay of up to 750 words on ‘Discuss how studying your chosen master's programme at Kent Business School will enhance your career and personal development’. Applicants must apply before the scholarship deadline of 31 May.

Please note that funding applications from candidates who have not made a full application for a Masters cannot be considered for funding. Scholarship decisions will be made by the Scholarship Awarding Panel in the first week of June with decisions notified to successful applicants within 2 weeks following the official deadline date. Unsuccessful applicants will not be notified. Scholarship awards will only be granted for that years entry and cannot be deferred. Please note, if you are unsuccessful for this award, we will consider you for other Kent Business School scholarships based on your application. Alumni Research Scholarship

Please note that funding applications from candidates who have not made a full application for a MBA cannot be considered for funding. Awards will be considered on a rolling basis by the Scholarship Awarding Panel every month with successful candidates notified within one week of the panel meeting. Please note This scholarship is not open to sponsored University of Kent staff. Applicants can apply for more than one type of scholarship award offered within Kent Business School, providing they meet the criteria stated. Please note however, successful applicants can only be in receipt of one scholarship award but can still be considered for the Double Loyalty Scheme and also the Early Bird discount if applicable.
