Candidates must have an unconditional offer to begin the MA Philanthropic Studies (not PG Diploma or PG Certificate) in September 2019, possess a 2:1 first degree, work for a small charity, defined as having an annual turnover of less than £1 million, proactively indicate that they wish to be considered for either or both of the full or partial Blackbaud Scholarship and be in need of financial support in order to join the degree programme. Blackbaud, developers of software and services for non-profit organisations, is offering three scholarships to support MA Philanthropic Studies students starting in September 2019. Each scholarship will be paid towards tuition fees for the degree programme which is part-time over two years.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Synthetic mechanobiology

This scholarship will involve undertaking teaching/demonstrating duties during the period of study. International applicants should make provision to meet the difference between Home /EU and International fees. Applicants should have or expect to obtain a first or upper second class honours degree (or equivalent) in biochemistry chemistry or a related subject. Candidates must hold a good Honours degree (First or 2:1), or a Master’s degree (merit or distinction) in a relevant subject or equivalent. Current Kent research students are not eligible for this scholarship. Overseas fee paying students are invited to apply. Please note that overseas students must have the appropriate documentation to evidence eligibility to work in the UK.

Kent Cancer Trust Scholarship Scheme

In order to be eligible for this scholarship fund, candidates must: Have accepted an offer for the MSc Cancer Biology, or and MSc by research on a cancer-related research project, at the University of Kent at the point of application Have, or expect to obtain, a minimum Upper Second Class Honours degree or equivalent Commence study in September 2019; scholarship awards cannot be deferred Scholarship holders would be expected to undertake reasonable duties to support the objectives of Kent Cancer Trust in its aim to promote, support and fund translational research into cancer. The specific roles that the Trust is interested in for 2018/2019 are outlined below; you should relate to one or more of these roles in your application. These requirements can be undertaken in scholars’ own time and are anticipated to require an hour per week on average, although some weeks will require a little more activity.

Kent-Lille Postgraduate Scholarship in Open Collaboration for Innovation and Change in Healthcare and Medicine

Kent-Lille Joint (Cotutelle) PhD Scholarships include Home/EU tuition fees, and a stipend of £15,009 (2019/20 Research Council rate) for three years. Successful candidates will demonstrate excellent research potential and will have obtained a First or 2:1 Undergraduate degree, along with a Master's with Merit or Distinction, in a relevant subject (current Masters Students can submit a partial transcript). Candidates must have strong analytical and statistical skills (demonstrated within CV and cover letter). Applicants must have a minimum overall score of 7.0 in an IELTS test. This requirement is waived, if an applicant is a national of a majority English-speaking country, or has completed a qualification equivalent to a UK Bachelor's degree in a majority English-speaking country. Open to applicants from any country. Please note that the scholarship only covers Home/EU fees, overseas students must have the appropriate documentation to evidence eligibility to work in the UK and are required to fund the shortfall in fees. Open to all new postgraduate research applicants, applying for September 2019 entry (current Kent research students are not eligible). Scholarship cannot be deferred.

Health and Social Care Scholarship

Applicants who have completed a health or social care related postgraduate training course at Master's level equivalent to merit or distinction with a substantial research training component (such as an ESRC recognised training course), or be willing to undertake additional research methods training. In addition, there is an annual Research Training Support allowance of £750 to cover conference attendance, training courses, equipment and books. The studentship includes opportunities for undertaking a limited amount of teaching and possible involvement in research projects within CHSS and PSSRU. We are offering three 3-year PhD scholarships (full-time or 5 years part-time) to be based in the Centre for Health Services Studies (CHSS) and Personal Social Services Research Unit (PSSRU) in the School of Social Policy and Social Research (SSPSSR), University of Kent. We welcome applications to undertake health and social care services research and/or evaluation commencing in September/October 2019. These scholarships are linked to new NIHR funding to develop applied health and social care research in the region.

School of Economics Scholarship for MSc Development Economics

The scholarships are available to outstanding students from low-/lower-middle-income countries, who have secured a scholarship of at least 50% of the full tuition fee through another recognised funder. The School will pay the difference to the full tuition fee. Scholarships will be awarded to the best qualified students on a competitive basis. Students may be considered for more than one scholarship, but they will not be awarded more than one (Kent graduates may however be awarded the Graduate School Scholarship in addition, if they are eligible). School of Economics Alumni Scholarship

All scholarships take the form of a School payment towards tuition fees, and will be paid once the recipient is fully registered at the University of Kent. You should be aware that this scholarship does not cover the full cost of studying at Kent, and that you will need to have additional sources of funding in order to cover your tuition fees and/or accommodation, travel and living expenses. Applicants must be undergraduates currently in Kent's School of Economics who are due to graduate in July 2019 and continue with an MSc starting in September 2019. Kent Business School Excellence Scholarship

Applicants must have made a formal application to study onto a Master's programme at Kent Business School and be in receipt of an offer for September 2019 entry. Be self-funded. Applicants should hold (or expect to hold) a first class degree (or equivalent). Students with a borderline 2:1/First degree will also be considered. Submit a supporting statement discussing how studying your chosen Master's programme at Kent Business School will enhance your career and personal development. Awards will be considered on a rolling basis by the Scholarship Awarding Panel every month, with successful candidates notified within one week of the panel meeting. Medway Postgraduate Accommodation Scholarship

Student requirements

The scholarship is available to both taught and research students, from any country, paying tuition fees at either the home or overseas rate. If you are awarded the scholarship, you would be living in an en-suite room in a flat with other postgraduate students. Students must have received a conditional offer for their programme of study, and have accepted it by 30 June 2019 for their scholarship application to be considered. Students must have also applied for accommodation at Liberty Quays for 51 weeks (from 07/09/19 – 29/08/2020) by the accommodation deadline, 31 July 2019. To request the accommodation for 51 weeks. Scholarship offers will be provisional until all remaining conditions of the offer have been fulfilled and until the Liberty Quays accommodation application has been submitted. The scholarship is for one year only and cannot be deferred. Students in receipt of a maintenance stipend or other award which supports living expenses during study would not be eligible for this award. Only available to students beginning a degree level programme at Kent in September 2019.

All applicants who have accepted a place on one of the above programmes will be automatically considered for a discount. This discount will be in addition to any Kent scholarships and discounts (such as the £1,000 Graduate School Scholarship, 10% Loyalty Discount and School of Social Policy, Sociology and Social Research Alumni Master's Scholarship). Students need to have First Class honours or a very good upper 2.1 (68%+) degree from the School of Social Policy, Sociology and Social Research. Tizard Centre Scholarship

The Tizard Centre is pleased to be offering a PhD studentship, under the Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) model. The studentship is specifically related to the field of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA). This would be suited to a student who is enthusiastic about behaviour analytic research and is an opportunity to work collaboratively with the ABA and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) programme team at the Tizard Centre. Candidates will have obtained a 1st or good 2.1 undergraduate degree in a relevant subject and an MA or MSc at Merit or Distinction. Scholarships are offered under the Graduate Teaching Assistant model, ie. a stipend and a payment for teaching. Scholarships are only available to new PhD students starting in September 2019. Kent LLM First Class Honours Scholarships

You must meet all of the following conditions: Have been awarded a First Class Honours degree in any discipline from the University of Kent or in law from Canterbury Christ Church University (proven by receipt of transcripts and/or a degree certificate clearly stating that this classification has been awarded) • Have firmly accepted an offer of a place on the taught Kent LLM at the Canterbury Campus of the University of Kent for entry in September 2019 or January 2020 and have met the academic conditions of entry/be accepted for entry. This award can be held in conjunction with other awards and scholarships offered by the University of Kent, except where they are provided by Kent Law School (in which case the award which provides the greater monetary value overall will be given only).Applicants must be fully self-funding their studies. Where students undertake study on the Kent LLM on a part-time mode of study, the award will be made on a pro-rata basis. Where students are required to continue their studies beyond their original period of registration, the award will only be provided for that original period of registration. Successful applications will be notified by email after their offer to study on the Kent LLM is firmly accepted. Notification will take place in August/September for entry in September and December/January for entry in January. Due to strong demand, applicants are encouraged to submit their application as soon as possible.

School of Biosciences International Scholarships

The Scholarship is open to Overseas fee-paying students who have been accepted on any of the following School of Biosciences Master's Programmes: MSc Biochemistry, MSc Biomedicine, MSc Biotechnology and Bioengineering, MSc Cell Biology, MSc Cancer Biology, MSc Computational Biology, MSc Infectious Diseases, MSc Genetics, MSc Reproductive Medicine: Science and Ethics and MSc Microbiology. Applicants must accept an offer for one of the above programmes before 31st May 2019. Must satisfy all conditions of their offer by 31st July 2019. The award is made at the end of the first three months of the student’s registration. The award is dependent on continued good academic and financial standing including full payment of tuition fees. The School of Biosciences reserves the right not to allocate this award to any individual applicant it considers ineligible. Scholarship holders would be expected to undertake reasonable duties to support the external profile of the School of Biosciences, for instance assisting with Open Days, outreach with the local community, working with the International Development team and promoting the School of Biosciences in their home countries. Kent Business School Loyalty Award

Students who choose to continue their studies in the same year as they graduate with a postgraduate taught Master's programme run by Kent Business School can be considered for this award. The KBS Loyalty Award, supports University of Kent students who: Achieve a minimum 2:1 in their undergraduate degree programme in 2019 and progress onto a Kent Business School postgraduate taught masters programme at either Canterbury or Medway campus, registering before 1 October 2019.

There is no application form to complete. If you have applied to the University of Kent and have met the eligibility criteria, the KBS Loyalty Award will be automatically applied to fees.

The Dental Development Scholarship

Scholarships may be awarded for PG Certificate, PG Diploma or MSc stages, and any applicant awarded a scholarship at PG Certificate or PG Diploma will be able to reapply for succeeding academic stages at the end of June each year. Scholarships will also be subject to satisfactory academic progress. This Scholarship is open to Overseas part-time students. Applicants must fulfil the normal entry requirements for the course. Applicants must hold an offer of a place or be an existing student in good standing for a full-time or flexible degree at the University of Kent for the following or current academic year in the Dental Care programme. Applicants will be judged on the strength of their academic background and appropriate completion of the award application form. Priority will be given to applicants in the following order: qualified dental nurses other dental care professionals
