Demonstrate an excellent academic track record Show excellent professional and personal skills evidenced through work experience and/or extra-curricular activities Demonstrate the potential to contribute to the social and cultural diversity of our Masters programmes Be considered a national of a country in the African Union, the Americas or of a country in the ASEAN community, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan or Sri Lanka.

You can apply for this scholarship if you have an offer or intend to study any of the following degrees full-time or part-time: Any postgraduate degree starting in September 2020. Any research degree, including a PhD, starting from September 2020. To apply for this scholarship you must: Be a forced migrant to the United Kingdom (a person displaced from their homeland or place of residence for political, economic, ethnic, environmental, or human rights pressures). Be unable to access mainstream funding, for example from Student Finance England or a local authority grant. As well as meeting both of the above criteria, you also will need to have the residency status of one of the following: An asylum seeker – a person who has made a claim within the UK for refugee status. A refugee who is unable to access funding from Student Finance England. A person who has been granted limited or discretionary leave to remain Indefinite leave to remain Section 67 Leave Leave as an Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Child (UASC leave) Please note that this scholarship is awarded on the understanding that students will continue to have immigration status that allows them to study for the duration of their course. If the student's immigration permission does change so that they were not permitted to study, the scholarship may be cancelled.

Leeds University Business School Alumni Excellence Scholarship

Level of study

Student requirements

University of Leeds graduates who achieved a First Class award in their undergraduate degree are eligible for this scholarship. Applicants who qualify for this scholarship are also entitled to receive the Leeds Alumni Bursary resulting in a total award of 20%. The scholarship is calculated based on the net fee remaining i.e. after other scholarships and awards have been deducted (the 10% alumni bursary and 10% alumni scholarship are added together and 20% is deducted from the net fee). Fully funded students are not eligible for this scholarship.

Leeds Alumni Bursary

If you are a former student of the University of Leeds you may be eligible for a 10% alumni tuition fee bursary. To be eligible you must: Have previously studied at the University of Leeds at an undergraduate or postgraduate level, and this includes incoming study abroad students; Be registering for an award leading to a postgraduate qualification (with the exception of the PGCE); Be self-financing for at least part of the cost of your tuition fees. You are deemed to be self-funding if you have support from a friend or relative, or if you are receiving a postgraduate loan from the UK government; Have commenced your studies from September 2016 onwards. The bursary cannot be awarded retrospectively. The University will review the bursary annually and reserves the right to vary or withdraw this bursary at its sole discretion but changes will not be applied retrospectively. You must advise the University if at any time (before or after you register on your course) you obtain funding for your tuition fees from sponsors whether this is paid directly to the University or to yourself as a contribution to your tuition fees. The bursary will not be applied in the overtime (writing-up) period for research degree students, taught students who are re-sitting examinations or student visitors registering and undertaking miscellaneous study. Applicants to research degree programmes should normally have at least a first class or an upper second class British Bachelors Honours degree (or equivalent) in an appropriate discipline. The criteria for entry for some research degrees may be higher, for example, several faculties, also require a Masters degree. Applicants are advised to check with the relevant School prior to making an application. Applicants who are uncertain about the requirements for a particular research degree are advised to contact the School or Graduate School prior to making an application. The minimum English language entry requirement for research postgraduate research study is an IELTS of 6.0 overall with at least 5.5 in each component (reading, writing, listening and speaking) or equivalent.
