College of Science and Engineering Postgraduate Scholarship Scheme

Student requirements

Conditions of the award: You must be classified as an international (non-EU) student for fee purposes; You must be starting a full-time, campus-based taught postgraduate course in the College of Science and Engineering commencing in September 2020; The fee discount will be calculated on the basis of the standard tuition fee for each year of your course; The scholarship will not apply for periods of industrial placement or overseas exchange, or if you suspend your studies for any reason; In accordance with scholarship guidelines, students are allowed to hold only one University of Leicester scholarship, awarded either centrally or by a department. If you are awarded more than one scholarship, you will only receive the higher value award; If you currently have a conditional offer of a place at the University, you will still need to fulfil any conditions stated on your offer letter; The scholarship is only available for campus-based courses; Students who satisfy the standard entrance criteria for their course will receive an award equivalent to 22% of their annual tuition fee. Students achieving the higher level grades listed below will receive the higher level award of 28%; For students from eligible countries who join a taught postgraduate degree in our College of Science and Engineering, in September 2020, we are delighted to offer a scholarship worth up to £5,600 per year of full – time study; Eligible countries: Asia and Middle East: Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal, Pakistan, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, Bhutan, Nepal; African countries: Angola, Benin, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Republic of Congo, Cote d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast), Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sao Tome and Principe, Senegal, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, Sudan, Swaziland, Tanzania, Togo, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

University of Leicester School of Business India Academic Excellence Scholarship Scheme

Student requirements

These scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic merit. Students who have achieved First Class in their undergraduate degree (Bachelors degree) with a minimum overall percentage of 65% will automatically receive an award of £3,000 off their annual tuition fee; Conditions of the award; You must be classified as an international (non-EU) student for fee purposes; You must be starting a full-time, campus-based undergraduate course in the University of Leicester School of Business commencing in September 2020; The fee discount will be calculated on the basis of the standard tuition fee for each year of your course; The scholarship will not be paid for a Year in Industry or Year Abroad, or if you suspend your studies for any reason; In accordance with scholarship guidelines, students are allowed to hold only one University of Leicester scholarship, awarded either centrally or by a department. If you are awarded more than one scholarship, you will only receive the higher value award; If you currently have a conditional offer of a place at the University, you will still need to fulfil any conditions stated on your offer letter.

President's Postgraduate Scholarship Scheme

Student requirements

Eligibility: This scholarship is for new international (non-EU) students on a full-time, taught, campus-based Masters course starting in September 2020 or January 2021; This scholarship is open to applicants who already have an offer (conditional or unconditional) to study for a Masters degree programme at the University; You cannot combine this scholarship with a full scholarship (for tuition fees and living costs) from any other source. You are able to receive only one partial scholarship from the University. If you have a partial scholarship from other sources you will still be considered for the President's Postgraduate Scholarship; This scholarship is not available for distance learning courses.

If you receive your offer to study by 10 March 2020, please submit your scholarship application by the first deadline of 30 March 2020. If you receive your offer to study after 10 March 2020, please apply by the second deadline of 13 July 2020.

Sanctuary Scholarships

Eligibility: Candidates must hold an offer of a place to study full-time at the University of Leicester beginning in September 2020; Candidates must be unable to access mainstream funding in the UK, e.g. Student Finance; Candidates must be in the UK: Seeking asylum in the UK, or Have been granted Discretionary or Limited Leave to remain in the UK, following an application for asylum in the UK; The University of Leicester is proud to have obtained the University of Sanctuary award; We believe that higher education should be accessible to all based on merit alone, and are pleased to offer up to four Sanctuary Scholarships to help reduce the barriers to participation in higher education faced by those seeking asylum in the UK; Each Sanctuary Scholarship consists of a tuition fee waiver, a contribution to living costs and tailored personal support; The Scholarships will be awarded to up to four applicants wishing to begin their studies at the University of Leicester in September 2020 who can demonstrate that they have the ability to succeed academically, but face barriers to that success; Caveats and exclusions; The scholarship is for September 2020 entry only: the award cannot be deferred to a different intake; The scholarship is for Year 1 entry of a degree course at the University of Leicester; The scholarship cannot be used for any NHS funded courses (e.g. Medicine MBChB); The scholarship cannot be used for Distance Learning, Certificate or Diploma courses; The scholarship can only be used for full-time study.

Application details

Candidates must apply for the scholarship by the deadline of 31 July 2020. Applications received after this date will not be considered. Successful candidates will be notified by the end of August 2020, and must have a UK bank account to receive the living costs contribution.
