MSc Sport Science/MSc Sports Therapy: Applied Sport Support Bursary

Level of study

Postgraduate

Student requirements

The School of Sport and Exercise Science collaborates with local and national organisations and individuals, providing expert sports science and sports therapy support. The School is able to utilise their Human Performance Centre and strength and conditioning facilities to deliver guidance in activities such as improving athlete performance, rehabilitation, and running educational workshops for local teams or schools. Students are encouraged to become involved in the delivery of this support in order to gain the skills and experience that are crucial for successfully pursuing a career in applied sport science or sports therapy. Due to the rapid expansion of the School’s external consultancy activities, the opportunity has arisen for selected MSc Sport Science and MSc Sports Therapy students to receive a bursary to assist them in building a diverse portfolio of applied work during their studies. What opportunities will be available? Bursary recipients will be invited to contribute to, and will have the potential to lead, the delivery of applied consultancy activities, with full access to the Human Performance Centre and staff mentoring. The precise roles available will depend upon the recipient’s area(s) of expertise and the opportunities that arise during the academic year. In recent years specialised areas of support have included football, rugby, cricket, kayaking, figure skating, triathlon, cycling, running, canoeing, golf, weightlifting, and multisports.
