Students must hold a conditional or unconditional offer for a master's course at The University of Manchester (September 2021 start date). Scholarships can only be awarded to offer holders who are passport holders of China, India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Thailand, Egypt, Mexico, Ghana, Indonesia or Kenya. If a course/programme lasts longer than one year, the scholarships will be offered for the first year of study only, Scholarships can only be awarded to applicants who studied in China, India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Thailand, Egypt, Mexico, Ghana, Indonesia or Kenya at all levels (school/college/ university) with the exception of students who completed their bachelor’s at The University of Manchester and previously studied in China, India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Thailand, Egypt, Mexico, Ghana, Indonesia or Kenya. Scholarships can only be awarded to applicants who are classified by the University as an international tuition fee payer. As a condition of the award of a scholarship, recipients are required to take part in student ambassador and/or mentoring schemes. Scholarships are only available for September 2021 entry (a scholarship award may not be deferred). Scholarships can only be awarded to applicants who are offer holders on 30 April 2021. Academic excellence over and above the criteria required for admission to the PGT programme selected. Proficiency in English language. Application details
For scholarships in the Faculty of Science and Engineering, you must complete the Faculty of Science and Engineering scholarship application form by 30 April 2021. This will be emailed to all relevant offer-holders in due course. For all other scholarships, offer-holders will automatically be considered for the scholarship, there is no separate application form.

Eligibility criteria: This bursary is tenable for one year only; Applicants may be of any nationality; Candidates must have submitted an application for a place on the PGCert programme by the bursary application deadline; Students who have already accepted full scholarships or bursaries for September 2020 entry or are already in receipt of a full scholarship or bursary are ineligible to apply. To apply for the bursary: Applicants must complete the PGCert admissions application process, including online admissions form, tailored reference, and personal statement; Applicants should state their interest in the award within the funding section of the online application form; Applicants must provide a personal statement of no more than 350 words detailing why they wish to study this course and what they think they will bring to it. Within their statement, they should include details of any prior learning undertaken within a professional context and what the impact of the bursary would be. The personal statement should be submitted alongside the online application and other supporting documentation. Bursary Award Holders have a commitment to: provide blog entries throughout their study; engage with requests for video testimonials if possible during their course; write a testimonial at the end of their course.

HCRI honours its partnership with the IFRC by offering a number of competitive bursaries to which only members of the Red Cross Red Crescent Societies may apply. These bursaries are: intended to support those most in need, and are awarded based on a number of criteria including reference, and the quality of the reflections in the applicant's personal statement; tenable for one year only (commencing September 2020); open to applicants of any nationality; Criteria 1: The applicant must have submitted a complete application to the online Postgraduate Certificate in Global Health, including an application form, tailored online reference, and personal statement. Faculty of Life Sciences - International Postgraduate Research Bursaries

Overseas applicant should have equivalent of a UK First or Upper Second Class Honours degree are considered. For applicants whose first language is not English the minimum English language requirement is IELTS 6.5, TOEFL 577 (paper-based), 233 (computer-based) or 90 (internet-based). This funding is available to students undertaking study in Biological and Computing Science; Biology; Biomedical Sciences; Biochemistry; Biotechnology; Cell Biology; Genetics; Life Sciences; Microbiology; Molecular Biology; Neuroscience; Optometry; Plant Science; Pharmacology; Physiology; History of Science, Technology and Medicine; Zoology; Ophthalmology and Vision Sciences. This funding is available to students undertaking the Full-time mode of study. Bursaries are awarded based on outstanding academic achievement. Applicants for the bursaries must be able to cover the remainder of their tuition fees and living expenses.
