High Achievers Scholarship

Eligibility requirements

The High Achievers’ Scholarships (HAS) are available on an automatic basis to all academically-qualified students who are applying for entry onto the Foundation and Undergraduate programmes at the University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus.

General criteria

  • A-level: 3A’s, excluding General Studies
  • IB: 36 points and above
  • STPM: 3A’s, excluding General Studies (A-minus will not be considered as equivalent to an A)
  • UEC: 7A’s, including language options

Specific criteria

Departments of Engineering: to include Mathematics & Physics (Chemistry for Chemical Engineering) as part of the General Criteria

School of Computer Science: to include Mathematics as part of the General Criteria. 

School of Biosciences: to include Chemistry or Biology as part of the General Criteria

School of Pharmacy

  • BSc in Pharmaceutical & Health Sciences: to include Chemistry or Biology as part of the General Criteria
  • MPharm Pharmacy: to include Chemistry as part of the General Criteria ─ Only applies to the portion of studies in Malaysia

Students must submit their Offer Acceptance forms and pay their Offer Acceptance fee before the HAS may be awarded to them.

Post-Graduate Taught (PGT) Scholarship

Eligibility requirements

Applicants for all full time post-graduate taught courses offered in the Faculty are eligible to apply for this competitive award. 

Application details

In order to apply, you must: be holding an unconditional offer letter and have accepted the offer for full time Master’s degree programme at The University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus through the Online Application Portal. A copy of unconditional offer letter and proof of payment of tuition fee deposit must be attached together with the application; complete the Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences PGT Scholarship form and submit it together with offer letter and proof of payment of tuition fee deposit to the faculty office at email before the deadline. Please note that only completed form with all supporting documents will be considered.

Dean's Excellence Scholarship

Study level

Eligibility requirements

Awarded to top achieving students - usually the top 10 per cent of the schools’ high achievers - at the point of progression for each academic year, ie from: Foundation to Year 1, Year 1 to Year 2, and Year 2 to Year 3. This means that students who entered university without a High Achievers' Scholarship may be eligible for the DES when they perform outstandingly on the programme they have undertaken.

Developing Solutions Masters Scholarship

Eligibility requirements

Scholarships are available for students from the developing and third world countries registering for taught Masters programmes at Malaysia Campus in areas related to science, technology and education, including the following courses: MSc Chemical Engineering; MSc Civil Engineering; MSc Mechanical Engineering; MSc Electronic Communication and Computer Engineering; MSc Information Technology; MSc Crop Biotechnology; MSc Environmental Monitoring and Management; MA Educational Leadership and Management; MA Special Needs; MA TESOL; and MSc International Development Management.

In order to apply for one of these scholarships you must: be holding an unconditional offer letter and accepted the offer by paying USD1000 for full time Master’s degree programme at The University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus for 2016/17 intakes. Copy of unconditional offer letter and acceptance form must be attached together with the application; be classified as an ‘overseas’ student for fee purposes; have at least 1 full year working experience after completion of undergraduate programme. Fresh graduates will not be considered; must sufficiently enable to support cost of living throughout the duration of studies; and complete our scholarship application form online. Please take note only completed form with all supporting documents will be considered.

Arts Scholarship

Eligibility requirements

Applicants must have:

  • Obtained an unconditional Offer Letter from UNMC (including current Foundation students who will be progressing to Undergraduate studies)
  • Complete the Application Form
  • Submit a statement detailing their  achievements
  • Evidence of their Sports/Arts achievements
  • Evidence of family financial background

 Requirements of the Scholarships

  • Be a Sports/Arts Ambassador by promoting Sports/Arts on Campus
  • When requested, represent the University at appropriate inter-university/inter-campus competitions.
  • For students in a taught course, to achieve an academic yearly average of 55%. For students studying in a research degree, should successfully progress to the next year of their programme within the allotted time.
  • Allow the use of appropriate photographs and written material in the University’s publicity activities.
  • Maintain at least a national level performance.
  • Provide a yearly report detailing not only their Sports/Arts achievements, but also the ambassadorial activities/duties undertaken.
  • Outstanding balance of fees must not be in arrears.
  • Not any holder of any other University Scholarship

Family Scholarship - Spouse Scholarship

Eligibility requirements

Spouses who register full-time at the University for award-bearing courses are entitled to a scholarship of 10 per cent of the first year's tuition fees for one of the spouses. This scholarship is automatic on evidence of the spouse relationship and of both spouses being registered on full-time award-bearing programmes. It is not necessary for both spouses to be studying at the same time to gain this award.

Family Scholarship - Children of Alumni

Eligibility requirements

Children of alumni who register full-time at the University for an award bearing programme are entitled to a scholarship of 10 per cent of the first year's tuition fee. This scholarship is automatic once an application form has been completed and the evidence provided of one of the parents being a Nottingham alumnus.

Alumni of Universitas 21 (U21) Institutions Scholarship

Eligibility requirements

Alumni of Universitas 21 (U21) institutions who register at the University as full time students on award bearing programmes are entitled to a scholarship of 10 per cent of their first year’s tuition fees. This scholarship is automatic once an application form has been completed and satisfactory evidence provided.

Alumni Scholarship

Eligibility requirements

Alumni, who register at the University on full-time award bearing programmes, moving straight from one degree to another, via Bachelors to Masters or Masters to PhD (not MPhil upgrading to PhD) are entitled to the following scholarships. Alumni scholarships are automatic on evidence of previous successfully completed study at The University of Nottingham leading to an award has been provided.

Family Scholarship - Sibling Scholarship

Study level

Undergraduate,Postgraduate

Eligibility requirements

Where siblings register full-time on award bearing programmes at the University, each second and subsequent sibling is entitled to a scholarship of 10 per cent of the first year's tuition fee. The siblings need not be studying on programmes at the University at the same time but may have registered some years apart. This scholarship is automatic on evidence of the sibling relationship and each sibling being registered on full-time award-bearing programmes.
