Scholarships payable as a 50% fee reduction are available for international students who have completed senior high school overseas (A Levels, International Baccalaureate, etc.) and are intending to study in any of the following EAIT undergraduate programs:

  • Bachelor of Information Technology

IT Bachelor-Master Package Program

Study level

Eligibility requirements

The IT Bachelor-Master Package Program is available to eligible students who receive two years advanced standing towards the Bachelor of Information Technology on the basis of approved prior studies (e.g. students from Singaporean Polytechnics, or other partner programs in Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam) and apply to continue in the Master of Computer Science. Students should submit both applications together. 

Entry requirements
To apply, a student must

  • have successfully completed prior studies in Information Technology and be eligible for #32 (2 years) advanced standing, and
  • satisfy the Executive Dean that, based on the student’s academic record the student is suitably qualified for admission.

International students must undertake this program on campus at UQ on a full time basis to be eligible to apply for an Australian student visa.

Hong Kong Global Leaders Scholarship

  • Citizens of Hong Kong who normally reside in Hong Kong and are not already undertaking studies in Australia

  • Students must have completed the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination or a recognized Hong Kong sub-degree (Associate Degree or Higher Diploma) programs
  • Students who have received an unconditional offer for a relevant undergraduate coursework program and who are commencing students at UQ (the opportunity is not open to currently enrolled UQ students, or students studying at UQ on study abroad or exchange).

Space Environment Research Centre Scholarships

Consideration of all candidates will be given based on:

  • academic merit;
  • relevance of studies to SERC objectives; and
  • potential for long term contribution to research outcomes;

Priority is given to students with first class honours (or equivalent) from participating countries, currently Australia, Japan and the USA.

Science International Scholarships

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for a UQ Science International Scholarship, you must:

* Be classified as an international student in Australia

* Have an unconditional or a conditional offer (with all conditions met by the scholarship closing date) from UQ

* For undergraduate programs, have completed senior high school and obtained an entry score that equates to a Queensland Tertiary Education rank of 96 or higher

* For postgraduate programs, have completed an undergraduate degree and obtained a GPA (Grade Point Average) of 6 or higher on a 7-point scale

* Not have already commenced your studies at UQ, even if you seek a change of program

* Not simultaneously hold another scholarship

* For the Full Degree Scholarships: be an international student enrolling in year one of a UQ Faculty of Science full degree program

* For the Advanced Standing Scholarships: be an international student enrolling in a UQ Faculty of Science program with advanced standing (credit articulation)

Selection criteria

Following the closing date, UQ will select winners based on a competitive, merit-based process, based on:

* Candidates' academic performance as demonstrated by their Grade Point Averages (GPA)

* Candidates' potential to contribute to science, assessed on the basis of their personal statements

An applicant is eligible for the award of a scholarship in a year if, in that year, the applicant:

Selection criteria

The Associate Dean (Academic) must rank the eligible applicants in order of merit based on:
(a) Academic achievement;
(b) Financial need; and
(c) any other evidence that may be considered relevant by the Associate Dean (Academic) to future success by the student in the agriculture, agronomy or related industries
If the Associate Dean (Academic) is satisfied that at least one eligible applicant is of sufficient merit to warrant the award of the scholarship, the Associate Dean (Academic) must recommend that the scholarship be awarded to the applicant with the highest ranking.

(b) Is enrolled in the first year of a postgraduate program administered by the Faculty of Science.

The scholarship is awarded to the student who achieves the highest overall marks in the undergraduate Agricultural Science program with honours.

In making the recommendation, the Associate Dean (Academic) may take into account any other income that the recipient will receive from any other scholarship.
