International Student Support Scholarship

Eligibility requirements
In Semester 3 2020, Semester 1 and Semester 2 2021 the University of Southern Queensland (USQ) will offer scholarships to new international students intending to study on-campus after Australian Government travel restrictions are lifted. Students who wish to commence their studies in the online mode prior to attending campus will need to apply for the on-campus offering and be accepted through the USQ admissions processes.
This scholarship is based on meeting the entry requirements for the program of study and successfully passing all courses within the program.
International students in all areas of award programs (except for Bachelor of Nursing), undergraduate and postgraduate are welcome to apply. Bachelor of Nursing students should apply for the 2021 International Student Support Nursing Scholarship.
Applicants must:
- be an international student
- be a full-time student
- be an on-campus student (or have the intention to study on-campus after Australian Government travel restrictions are lifted)
- not be a sponsored student
- be a commencing student (i.e. be new to USQ)
- not be a Bachelor of Nursing student
- receive an offer to study for Semester 3 2020, Semester 1 2021 or Semester 2 2021, in a degree program offered by the University of Southern Queensland
- meet the academic and English requirements for a USQ degree program for which they apply
Bachelor of Nursing students are not eligible for this scholarship.
Selection Criteria:
Applicants will be considered for this scholarship based on the information provided on their USQ International Application. USQ will use information from your admission application to assess your scholarship eligibility. Applicants will also need to be successful in gaining the appropriate visa for the duration of their study to remain eligible.

- complete an International Application Form and be provided an Offer Letter by the closing date (Applicants must allow processing time for Visa and application assessment where appropriate)
- submit your admission application through a USQ approved education agent.
Value details
Each scholarship will have a maximum value of 25% of the tuition fees for the duration of the approved study program. The scholarship will be applied as a 25% reduction of the tuition fees.

International Accommodation Scholarship

This scholarship is based on meeting the entry requirements for the program of study and, meeting the Residential Colleges eligibility requirements, and room availability.
International students in all areas of award programs, undergraduate and postgraduate are welcome to apply.
Applicants must:
- be an international student
- be a full-time student
- be an on-campus student (studying on-campus after Australian Government travel restrictions are lifted)
- not be a sponsored student
- be a commencing student (i.e. be new to USQ)
- receive an offer to study for Semester 3 2020, Semester 1 2021 or Semester 2 2021 in a degree program offered by the University of Southern Queensland (USQ)
- meet the academic and English requirements for a USQ degree program for which they apply
- meet the entry requirements of the Residential Colleges

Incoming Study Abroad International Travel Grant

- be an International student
- not be a sponsored student
- be a commencing student in the Study Abroad program (fee paying) at USQ in Semester 1 OR Semester 2 2021
- be studying on-campus
- be enrolled in a minimum of 3 study units in the semester the Grant is awarded
- be studying the Study Abroad (fee paying) program at USQ (not be studying Cross-institutional or Professional Development courses)

Applicants will be considered for this grant based on the information provided in their USQ International Admission Application or Study Abroad Application (as applicable).

ARC DECRA Stipend Scholarship

Eligibility requirements
Your energy and initiative, combined with your interest regarding experimental aerospace engineering, will be vital to your success in this role. In addition, you will have:
- a Bachelor’s degree with First Class Honours or Second Class Honours (Division A) at an Australian University or equivalent in materials engineering, mechanical engineering, mechatronic engineering, computer engineering or
- a Master’s degree at an Australian University or equivalent (containing a significant research component) with a GPA of at least 5.5 on a 7-point scale
- nationality requirement subject to Australian Defence security clearance
- be eligible to be enrolled full-time on-campus in the PhD program at USQ;
- not be a sponsored student receiving similar funding from their Government, or other organisations;
- commence the program in 2021.
Selection Criteria:
Applicants will be assessed on:
- alignment with the University's research priority areas;
- academic merit, previous research outputs and research experience of the applicant;
- research track record of the proposed supervisory team;
- quality of the research proposal.

Value details
Tuition fees for a period of 6 semesters, full-time equivalent, paid by the USQ. Stipend (living allowance),valued at AUD $30,000 per annum, tax free. The maximum period of the award is three years. Periods of study already undertaken towards the program will be deducted from the period of tenure.
Soils CRC Scholarship in Soil Constraint Diagnosis and Modelling

Eligibility requirements
The University of Southern with funding from the Cooperative Research Centre for High Performance Soils is offering one PhD scholarship that will contribute to the analysis, modelling and diagnosis of soil constraints across Australian farming systems. The aim of this project will be develop a soil constraint diagnoses framework that brings together biophysical crop and soil modelling with statistical and artificial intelligence approaches and leverages of public domain and farm level data.
Eligibility
- not hold a qualification regarded by the USQ to be equivalent to a PhD;
- have a qualification regarded by USQ to be equivalent, or at higher level to a Bachelor Degree with First Class Honours;
- be eligible to be enrolled, full-time on-campus in a PhD;
- be native English speakers and/or meet USQ’s English Language Requirements
Selection Criteria:
This PhD Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit and alignment with the research topic.

CSIRO Postgraduate Scholarships

Eligibility requirements
CSIRO is currently offering postgraduate scholarships for students enrolled in a PhD program at an Australian university.
Scholarships will be offered to high achieving students who are enrolled in a PhD program at an Australian university.
Recipients of postgraduate scholarships are generally required to be Australian Citizens or hold Permanent Residency status. However, in fields in which there is a national skill shortage, scholarships may be awarded to overseas candidates, provided they meet Department of Immigration and Citizenship policy guidelines. International students must be able to provide evidence of admission to an Australian university.
