  • be enrolled in a minimum of 3 study units in the semester that the bursary is awarded.

ReDTrain Summer Research Scholarships

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible applicants must:

  • be currently enrolled in a USQ honours or coursework masters program and intend applying for entry into an HDR program;
  • be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or permanent resident;
  • commence the scholarship during semester three, 2017.

Applications for the ReDTrain Summer Research Scholarships are now open and interested students are required to complete the 2017 Summer Research Scholarship Application.

Value details

The scholarship provides a stipend (living allowance) of AUD $300 per week. Payments are made on a fortnightly basis.

International PhD Fees Scholarship

Study level

Undergraduate,Postgraduate

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible applicants must:

  • hold a qualification regarded by USQ to be equivalent, or at higher level to a Bachelor Degree with First Class Honours;
  • be eligible to be enrolled full-time, or part-time in the PhD program at USQ. There is no requirement for the recipients of this scholarship to study on-campus;
  • must have applied for enrolment or currently be enrolled in a PhD at USQ;
  • be an international student, not an Australian or New Zealand citizen or Australian permanent resident;
  • not be in receipt of similar funding from the Australian Government;
  • not be a sponsored student receiving similar funding from their Government, or other organisations;
  • commence the program in 2018.

Application details

Scholarship applications are separate from the Admission application process, the Office of Research Graduate Studies (ORGS) recommend applicants commence the admission process.

  • documentation confirming citizenship;

Value details

Subject to satisfactory progress International PhD Fees Scholarship recipients will have their tuition fees for a period of 6 semesters, full-time equivalent, paid by the USQ. Periods of study already undertaken towards the degree will be deducted from the scholarship.

International PhD Stipend Scholarship

To be eligible applicants must:

  • have completed a Bachelor Degree with First Class Honours, or equivalent level;
  • be eligible to be enrolled full-time on-campus in the PhD program at USQ; 
  • must have applied for enrolment, or currently enrolled in the PhD at USQ;
  • be an international student, not an Australian or New Zealand citizen or Australian permanent resident;
  • not have previously held an Australian Government funded higher degree by research scholarship;
  • not be a sponsored student receiving similar funding from their Government, or other organisations;
  • commence the program in 2018.

USQ Higher Degree by Research (HDR) Equity Bursary Scholarship

Eligibility requirements

Applications for the HDR Equity Bursary Scholarship will be considered from students who:

  • are currently enrolled in a USQ HDR program
  • are an international student, not an Australian or New Zealand citizen or Australian permanent resident
  • are studying within Australia
  • can demonstrate real and enduring financial hardship.

Shortlisted applicants may be required to attend an interview
