Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for the Scholarship, an applicant must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Must have completed a UTS recognised degree and met the UTS MBA entry requirements; and
  • Must be commencing the UTS Master of Business Administration (MBA) program (course code C04018) in the session immediately following the Scholarship selection; and
  • Be enrolled or intend to enrol in a minimum of 12cp in the session the scholarship is awarded, in the above course; and
  • Have achieved a minimum academic achievement of Distinction average (75%) in their qualification used as a basis for admission to the MBA.

Selection process

The recipient will be selected on the basis of:

  • Academic merit in the academic qualification used as basis of admission into the UTS Master of Business Administration degree;
  • Reasons for choosing to study MBA at UTS, as demonstrated in the scholarship application
  • Your personal aspirations present and future, as demonstrated in the scholarship application
  • Leadership skills and community involvement, as demonstrated in the scholarship application

The selection of the successful Recipient will usually occur early in the Autumn session and early in the Spring session each year.

Droga Indigenous Architecture Scholarship Program

To be eligible for the Scholarship, an applicant must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander (must complete a Confirmation of Aboriginality form or provide a statutory declaration; and
  • Commencing full-time enrolment in the Bachelor of Design in Architecture; and
  • Achieve an ATAR or equivalent of 69 or above, excluding bonus points or be an applicant who has accepted an offer through the Jumbunna Institute for Indigenous Education and Research Direct Entry Programme; and

To be eligible to apply for the Scholarship, an applicant must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Must be a citizen of a country in the South Asia region (Bangladesh, Nepal, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka); and
  • Must be an international student (not an Australian citizen, New Zealand citizen or permanent resident of Australia); and
  • Must be completing or have completed an International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma; and
  • Meet the UTS admission criteria for the selected UTS undergraduate degree course; and

International Research Scholarship

To be eligible for the UTS IRS, a student must:

  • be an overseas student as defined in the Higher Education Support Act 2003 (Cth); and
  • purchase and maintain a standard OSHC policy approved by the Commonwealth government Department of Health and Ageing; and
  • be commencing full-time enrolment in a Higher Degree by Research (HDR) at UTS;
  • be undertaking study in a subject area identified by the University as one of its areas of research concentration; and
  • not hold a research qualification regarded by the University to be equivalent to an Australian research doctorate degree or, if undertaking a research master's degree, not hold a research qualification regarded by the provider to be equivalent to or higher than an Australian research master's degree; and
  • not have held an Australian Agency for International Development scholarship within the two years prior to commencing the UTS IRS; and
  • not be receiving a scholarship for which course tuition is a component under any other scholarship scheme to which the Australian Government makes a substantial contribution; and
  • not previously have received a UTS IRS for a research doctorate degree, unless converting to a research master's degree; and
  • not previously have received an UTS IRS for a research master's degree, unless: ii) that degree was completed and the student is immediately undertaking a research doctorate degree; or ii) the student has converted their HDR under paragraph 3.25.15 of the Commonwealth Scholarships Guidelines (Research) 2010

UTS President's Scholarship

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for the UTSP, a student must:

  • be an overseas student as defined in the Higher Education Support Act 2003 (Cth); and
  • purchase and maintain a standard OSHC policy approved by the Commonwealth government Department of Health and Ageing; and
  • be commencing full-time enrolment in a Higher Degree by Research (HDR) at UTS (UTSPs are not available to applicants whose enrolment into a postgraduate research program has not been accepted by the University);
  • be undertaking study in a subject area identified by the University as one of its areas of research concentration; and
  • not have completed a degree at the same or higher level as the proposed candidature; and
  • not previously have held an Australian Government-funded postgraduate research scholarship, unless it was terminated within six months of the scholarship payments commencing; and
  • not be receiving an equivalent award, scholarship (excluding an IPRS) or salary providing a benefit greater than 75% of the UTSP stipend rate to undertake the HDR. Income earned from sources unrelated to the course of study is not subject to the 75% rule.

UTS ATN-LATAM Scholarships

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for the UTS ATN-LATAM, a student must:

  • be a citizen of one of the following countries: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru or Uruguay; and
  • be an overseas student as defined in the Higher Education Support Act 2003; and
  • be a holder of an international student visa, meeting requirements as specified by the Department of Home Affairs, including the requirement to purchase and maintain a standard Overseas Student Health Cover policy approved by the Commonwealth Government Department of Health; and
  • have completed a Bachelor Degree with First Class Honours, or be regarded by the University as having an equivalent level of attainment in accordance with clause (d); and
  • where applicants do not hold a Bachelor degree with First Class Honours in clause (c) above, the University may determine that the applicant has demonstrated an equivalent level of academic attainment. In determining an equivalent level of academic attainment, the University may consider previous study, relevant work experience, research publications, referees' reports and other research experience; and
  • be undertaking a higher degree by research (HDR) at the University in the year of the award (awards are not available to applicants whose enrolment into a postgraduate research program has not been accepted by the University); and
  • be commencing full time enrolment for the first time in a higher degree by research (HDR) at the University; and

International Research Training Program Scholarship (IRTP)

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for an IRTP, a student must: (a) be undertaking a higher degree by research (HDR) as an overseas student as defined in the Higher Education Support Act 2003 (Cth) at the University in the year of the IRTP Stipend (IRTP Stipends are not available to applicants whose enrolment into a postgraduate research program has not been accepted by the University) in an accredited HDR course; and (b) not be receiving an equivalent award, stipend or salary providing a benefit greater than 75% of the IRTP Scholarship stipend rate to undertake the HDR. Income earned from sources unrelated to the course of study is not subject to the 75% rule; and (c) Not receive an equivalent award or scholarship from the Commonwealth designed to offset HDR fees.

To be eligible for the Scholarship, an applicant must meet all of the following criteria:

  • must remain an international student (not an Australian citizen, New Zealand citizen or permanent resident of Australia) for the duration of the Scholarship; and
  • must commence a Masters by coursework degree at the Faculty of Engineering and IT at UTS full-time and on campus; and
  • must not currently be based in Australia; and
  • must not have completed studies in Australia within the last six months to commencing at UTS; and
  • must not be a government sponsored student; and
  • must not be a recipient of another UTS scholarship for the duration of this Scholarship; and
  • must not be enrolled in a UTS Transnational Program.

Global Exchange Scholarship

Eligibility requirements

Students who are accepted in to the UTS Global Exchange program at a non US/UK destination will be automatically considered for the Global Exchange Scholarship.

In order to be awarded a Global Exchange Scholarship, students must be:

  • Selected to participate in the Global Exchange Program at a non USA/UK destination
  • Eligible to gain credit for a full-time load of exchange study
  • Accepted by the host institution
  • Not receiving another scholarship awarded by UTS International (ISEP / New Colombo Plan / Cheung Kong)

Who is not eligible?

  • Students on exchange in a USA/UK destination
  • Students enrolled in and currently on the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences In-country Studies year abroad
  • UTS outbound Study Abroad students (i.e. students on concurrent study at a non-partner institution)
  • Students who have received a Global Exchange Scholarship on a previous occasion
  • Students who have received another UTS International administered scholarship such as ISEP, Cheung Kong and New Colombo Plan

  • Must meet all admission requirements for the selected UTS undergraduate coursework program; and

  • Must not have completed studies in Australia; and
  • Must not be in receipt of any other UTS  scholarship/s ; and
  • Must not be  enrol in a UTS Transnational Program.

Academic merit in a completed tertiary qualification recognised by UTS from a country other than Australia for entry into the selected UTS postgraduate coursework program.

To be eligible for the Grant, an applicant must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Must be an international student (not an Australian citizen, New Zealand citizen or permanent resident of Australia); and
  • Must remain an international student post census date for the session in which they receive the Grant; and
  • Must be commencing full-time on-campus (Sydney) in 2019; and
  • Must meet all admission criteria for the Master by coursework program at UTS; and
  • Must have completed a Bachelor degree or higher qualification in Australia with a minimum overall average of 60% (where the pass mark is 50%) no longer than 1 year prior to commencing at UTS, and must be admitted based on this qualification to UTS; and
  • Must not be a recipient of a scholarship, grant or the Alumni Advantage Program from UTS; and
  • Must not be enrolled in a UTS Transnational program;
  • Must not be a government sponsored student; and
  • Must not be a student whose course at UTS forms as part of a package offer.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for the Scholarship, an applicant must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Must be a commencing International student (neither an Australian citizen, New Zealand citizen nor permanent resident of Australia); and must not be currently residing in Australia
  • Meet the UTS admission criteria for either the:
  1. Master of Engineering Management, course code C04275; or  
  2. Master of Environmental Engineering Management, course code C04272; and
  • Completed an undergraduate degree with a minimum Highest Weighted Average Mark (WAM) or equivalent, of 75 with no fails; and
  • Must be commencing either the Master of Engineering Management (course code C04275) or the Master of Environmental Engineering Management (course code C04272) in the semester immediately following the Scholarship selection; and
  • Double degree applicants may only apply for the first course in their double degree; and
  • Must not have received a scholarship from UTS previously (with the exclusion of UTS International Academic Excellence Award recipients); and
  • Must not be a sponsored student; and
  • Must not be a student enrolled in an offshore program.
