Lugg Nominees Pty Ltd having donated to the University property/assets to commemorate the association of Emeritus Professor J. W. H. Lugg, the University's Foundation Professor of Biochemistry, and members of the Lugg family with the University and for the promotion and development of Biochemistry, particularly but not exclusively in respect of individual student benefit. End Rheumatic Heart Disease Centre of Research Excellence (END RHD CRE) Masters and PhD Student Scholarships

The END RHD CRE is a five-year Centre of Research Excellence funded by the NHMRC. At the end of 5 years, the END RHD CRE will provide a stepwise roadmap to ending RHD in Australia and aim to produce a clear vision for achieving measurable disease control targets. To do this, the END RHD CRE will undertake a number of projects across several disciplines of research including epidemiology, economics, biomedical sciences, clinical practice; health services research; and social sciences with a special focus on engaging the RHD community and documenting the experiences of those living with the disease.

Empowering Masters and PhD and other students to be independent researchers and practitioners is a core function of the END RHD CRE.

END RHD CRE is offering:

  • Masters Scholarships - up to AUD $29,000 per annum for up to two years with the possibility of a 6 month extension.
  • PhD Scholarships - up to AUD $29,000 per annum for up to three years with the possibility of a 6 month extension.
  • Masters Top-Up Scholarships - up to AUD $5,000 per annum top-up and up to AUD $6,000 to be used towards the candidates studies.
  • PhD Top-Up Scholarships - up to AUD $10,000 per annum top-up and up to AUD $10,000 to be used towards the candidates studies.
