UWA Agribusiness Connect Regional Research Project Scholarships

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible to apply for a scholarship, an applicant must—

(a) have successfully completed the requirements for a Bachelor of Science at the University, majoring in—

(i)  Agricultural Science; or

(ii) Natural Resource Management; or

(b) have applied for admission into, and be enrolling in the first 24 points of—

(i) the Bachelor of Science (Honours) course with a thesis relating to Agricultural Science or Natural Resources Management; or

(ii) the Master of Agricultural Science  by Coursework and Dissertation1 with a specialisation in  Agricultural Economics, Agricultural System, Genetics and Breeding or Soil Science and Plant Nutrition; or

(iii) another relevant honours or master’s course may be considered where the project is within agriculture and can demonstrate regional benefit; and

(c) have submitted a research proposal2 to undertake a research project that is—

(i) undertaken in conjunction with a regional agribusiness industry partner; or

(ii) regionally based in an agriculture-related field; or

(iii) developed in consultation with a regional partner and designed to benefit regional WA though the undertaking of relevant regional agriculture research.

Power Ledger/State Government Science Industry PhD Fellowships

Eligibility requirements

The PhD Candidate must be enrolled as a full-time doctoral candidate with the Host University, and must have not yet submitted their Research Proposal; The Host University must have approved the PhD Candidate to undertake the PhD Project, and must agree to provide academic supervision for the PhD Candidate over the duration of the PhD Project; and The Industry Partner must agree to host the PhD Candidate during the PhD Project for a period agreed to by the PhD Candidate, Academic Supervisor and Industry Mentor.

To apply for the fellowship, there must be an agreement between the PhD Candidate, Academic supervisor and Industry partner on an appropriate project. Four forms must then be completed:

1. A project proposal

2. Letter of agreement from the Industry Partner

3. Letter of agreement from the Host University

4. Letter of agreement from the PhD Candidate
