Founded in 1922, the College of San Mateo (CSM) has offered students quality higher education leading to university transfer, career preparation, and professional and personal development. The college is located at the northern corridor of Silicon Valley, on a stunning 153-acre site in the San Mateo hills, offering a panoramic view of San Francisco Bay. Approximately 13,000 students enrol at the college annually and have the option of choosing from a wealth of programs that include traditional, semester-length and short courses, in addition to distance education. Students of CSM also enjoy a vibrant campus life to complement classroom learning, with more than 30 student clubs and educational and cultural activities. The college offers comprehensive support services, including financial aid and scholarships, transfer services, counseling, tutoring, and health services, among many others.
