Marshall University is one of West Virginia’s oldest public institutions of higher education and it’s second largest. Marshall is known for its small class sizes which provide multiple opportunities for students to interact and collaborate with faculty. Students can choose from over 200 academic fields of study including STEM degrees in engineering, computer science and forensic science.
Marshall has a strong focus on academic research. Marshall is an institutional member of the Council on Undergraduate Research and is ranked in the Top 100 Master’s Level Research Universities by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching.
Marshall also offers a welcoming and exciting social environment for its students featuring over 200 student organizations on campus. Many students also become involved with volunteering opportunities, sports teams, and Marshall’s student radio station.
Huntington has lots to offer for students, and is renowned for its friendly community-vibe and low living cost. There are plenty of things going on all year around, with annual festivals including the Greek festival – filled with food, music and dancing. Shopping centres, performing arts centres, museums, parks and restaurants serving cuisine from all around the world, are also in close proximity.
Marshall has partnered with INTO University Partnerships, to design customized pathway programs for international students. Students can choose to enrol directly with Marshall or select a pathway program to receive additional academic, English language and cultural support to help them excel at the university. The additional support can make it easier for international students to transition into studying at a US university.
