About the accommodation

Michigan Tech asks all first-year students, other than transfer or commuting students living with their parent(s)/guardian, to live in the residence halls for at least one year. may choose to live in one of three residence halls, Douglass Houghton Hall, McNair Hall or Wadsworth Hall. The three halls are different in size and appearance; however, they are similar in service. Each hall has its own dining hall, study areas, game room, kitchenettes, sauna, laundry facility, fitness rooms, reception desk, and lounges. The residence halls are divided into "Houses" that are typically comprised of 15-25 rooms. Members of each House study, eat, attend events, play games, or just hang out together. Each House has a Resident Assistant (RA) that will help lead your House by working with hall officers, planning activities and providing a assistance when you need it. Residence hall professional staff lives in each hall and maintain regular office hours. They provide information, guidance and aid in dealing with academic or personal issues. Alcohol-free housing is offered in all three of university's residence halls. This option is open to residents that have chosen to live an alcohol-free lifestyle. If the students have any questions, they can contact Housing and Residential Life at 906-487-2682, email housing@mtu.edu.
