Montclair State University was instituted as the New Jersey State Normal School at Montclair in 1908, serving the New Jersey communities of Montclair, Little Falls, Clifton, and Bloomfield. Today, the university’s main campus encompasses 252 acres and is home to over 22,000 students. Montclair State University offers more than 300 majors, minors, concentrations, and certificate programs, across 13 schools and colleges. An average class size of 24 and a student to teacher ratio of 17 to 1 facilitates personalized interaction with faculty.
