Satisfying college experience

Overall a satisfying college experience… It's pretty good.

Good program

State is not a bad place at all. The business department at State is strong and has many emphasis. Basically, I'd recommend State if you're a business major, or if you really love San Francisco.

Good school

San Francisco State is a good school to go to, but as always it's up to you to make the best out of it.

Good experience

It's the kind of school where you can go to class, do your thing and get by or you can get very involved and get a lot out of it. It is all up to the student.

Excellent teachers

If you're looking for the stereotypical college experience, this might not be the school for you; but if you mainly want to focus on academics you can really learn a lot.

Great school

As hospitality major, San Francisco state is a great school if you are self motivated (which you should be by the time you're in college).

If you are studying right now or you have completed your studies, then help future students by sharing your experiences.

About the accommodation

University housing offers residential living to more than 3000 students, faculty and staff of San Francisco State University. Living within the campus community is the best way to experience the attributes that make SF State one of California's preeminent public, urban universities: respect for scholarship, human diversity, and cultural richness. SF State's two traditional residence halls, Mary Ward and Mary Park halls, offer an ideal introduction to University life. The San Francisco State University residence halls are reserved for first-time freshman students. University housing services offer a wide variety of programs designed to facilitate the successful transition of first-time freshmen students to the campus community. All rooms are double occupancy with showers and bathrooms on each wing of every floor. Rooms are furnished with beds, desks, bookshelves, dressers, and closets - one for each student. Housing provides a 256 Kbps internet connection for each resident. Both wired and wireless connections are provided to all residents. Higher speed connections are available at additional cost. Housing provides a single telephone line in each unit that is shared by all roommates. The line has free local and campus calling and a single voicemail box. A telephone instrument is also provided. Long distance plans and individual phone numbers are available at additional cost. Residents are allowed to bring or rent a small refrigerator or microwave to use in their rooms. Each resident in the Halls is required to purchase a meal plan: 10, 15, or 19 meals a week. Students with disabilities who require special housing accommodations must register with the disability programs and resource center (DPRC).
