About the accommodation

Skagit Valley College offers two options for housing depending on student’s living needs. Campus View Village is Skagit Valley College's only on-campus living and learning community, supporting students from all over the world and offering a structured, supportive environment for the holistic development of SVC students. Each apartment is comprised of a shared common space and four individual bedrooms, within which CVV staff assigns a student on the basis of their needs and preferences, listed on their application. Residents are encouraged to develop effective critical thinking skills, interpersonal communication techniques, and personal responsibility by interacting daily with their diverse roommates and neighbors. Additionally, students are encouraged to attend frequent social and educational events organized by CVV staff and student volunteers. For International students, Home Stay is offered with an American family; an excellent way to develop English skills, as well as be immersed in American culture. In return for a monthly payment a Host family provides the student with a private room and home atmosphere. This setting works well for a student who wants to interact as a family member, often sharing meals and activities. It has two options. In traditional option, students are expected to prepare their own breakfast and lunch using the food provided by the host. Expenses such as bus fare, toiletries, long distance phone use, Internet installation and other personal items are not included in the stipend. In the room and kitchen access options students are expected to buy their own food and prepare their own meals. Expenses such as bus fare, toiletries, and long distance phone use, Internet installation and other personal items are not included in the stipend. For those students that seek off campus options, the Student Life office provides a list of off-campus apartments from local renters.
