Do a lot of spade work before you apply

Talk to seniors here before coming. Even when they are only half way thro their undergrad, they will be able to offer you valuable advice. My dept program is great and I like it.

About the accommodation

The University at Buffalo offers students a variety of housing options. Students have the option to live either on-campus of off-campus. The residence halls are generally reserved for first and second year undergraduate students. The on-campus apartment complexes are reserved for the third and fourth year students. They also have designated on-campus apartment complexes for graduate students. The residence halls are located on both the north and south campus. There are five residence hall facilities on the South Campus: Clement and Goodyear Halls, which are two high-rise halls connected by a service area; Pritchard, MacDonald, and Schoellkopf Halls, which are four story residences. International students choosing to live on the South Campus should choose Clement Hall or MacDonald Hall as their first choice since those are the only two South Campus Residence Halls that remains open during term breaks. The North Campus has two housing clusters: the Governors Residence Halls and the Joseph Ellicott Complex. International students choosing to live on the North Campus should choose Red Jacket Quadrange or Clinton Hall as their first choice since they are the only North Campus Residence Halls that remain open during term breaks. The rooms are furnished with a bed, mattress, desk and chair, nightstand, dresser, and a lamp for each occupant. Rooms are equipped with Ethernet data connections for personal computers. Each room is with a telephone jack and is wired for cable television reception.
