About the accommodation

The University of Wisconsin-Platteville operates 10 residence halls that house approximately 2700 students. Additionally, UW-Platteville has partnered with the UW-Platteville Real Estate Foundation to provide residential space in Rountree Commons for an additional 600 students. Through University of Wisconsin System Board of Regent policy, all freshmen and sophomore students are required to live in a community environment/residence hall, for four or more semesters (except if they have been out of high school for more than two years or are over the age of 21), unless a written release has been granted by the Department of Residence Life. The residence halls at UW-Platteville are very convenient. The rooms are designed for 2 people and are ready for move-in. Each student is provided with a bed, dresser, desk and chair, bookcase, drapes, wastebaskets and a mirror. Each room has a small refrigerator and a cable connection for TV and the Internet. The residence halls are located close to the academic buildings, recreational buildings, and the campus food venues. Residence halls provide an excellent opportunity for interaction with other students. Some of the UW-Platteville residence halls are 'coed,' with men and women living in different areas of the same building. However, there are residential options for students who wish to live in single-sex buildings.
