Established in 1899 as Western Illinois State Normal School, Western Illinois University (WIU) offers student-centered undergraduate and graduate programs characterized by innovative teaching, research, and service, grounded in interdisciplinary, regional, and global perspectives. There are over 100 innovative undergraduate and graduate degree programs, integrated programs, pre-professional programs, and certificate programs on offer for students to choose from. WIU’s diverse faculty and staff work in collaboration with alumni and community partners.
