Eligibility requirements

The scholarships are available to tertiary students, both female and male, who were born in the South Pacific region which not only includes the island nations of the Pacific but also New Zealand and Australia.

Students born in the South Pacific wishing to study in New Zealand or anywhere in the South Pacific are eligible for the scholarship.

Recipients that are successful in any one year can apply again in any subsequent year.

Scholarships up to NZ $1,000 a year are granted depending on the need and cost of the course being undertaken and are granted at the discretion of the Trustees of the Barbara Wood Memorial Foundation.

Wintec Masters Scholarships

Postgraduate

Eligibility requirements

  • This scholarship is open to international students.
  • Have achieved a grade average of A- or above (or with Distinction) in the last year of either a Postgraduate Diploma or an Honours degree at level 8 from Wintec or another New Zealand tertiary education provider.
  • Have applied to enroll in their first year of Masters study at Wintec and are meeting all the entry requirements for one of the following Wintec programmes:
  1. Master of Arts
  2. Master of Nursing
  3. Master of Science (Sport and Exercise Science)

Application details

Students must submit the scholarship application form along with endorsement from the relevant Programme Manager or Supervisor from your most recent postgraduates programme of study; verified copy of your application to enroll or acceptance into a Wintec Masters Programme; a written statement by the applicant (200 words maximum) on how this Scholarship will assist the applicant in furthering their study and career; a recent, named photo. Application forms must be submitted to the Research and Postgraduate Offices on the top floor in D Block, Wintec City Campus, or via email.
