Bachelor of Psychology (Hons) Duration: 3 years (full-time)
With one of the largest undergraduate psychology programmes in Asia, HELP University has over 1,100 full-time students majoring in psychology, and a team of 35 psychology academic staff who specialize in various areas of psychology and counselling. HELP was also the first non-Australian University to attain the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) accreditation for an undergraduate psychology programme.
In this programme, students will learn subjects such as Introduction to Psychology, Career Guidance, Leadership and Life Skills, Counselling Skills, Forensic Psychology and more. In addition, there are opportunities for internships with over 200 organisations. The Bachelor of Psychology (Hons) can be completed fully at HELP or choose to transfer credits to affiliated universities.
BSc (Hons) Psychology Duration: 3 years (full-time)
Sunway University have a variety of facilities that meet the standards required by the community of practising psychologists, this includes computing facilities equipped with statistical software, psychological experiments and simulations, observation rooms for small group work, specialised psychology laboratory and so on. Furthermore, students have access to various species of pets for observation of animal behaviour!
In this programme, students will learn Social Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Motivation & Emotion, Pet Behavioural Studies, Brain & Behaviour, Communication Skills, History of Psychology, among others. The BSc (Hons) Psychology is accredited by the Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA) and validated by Lancaster University in the UK.
INTERNATIONAL MEDICAL UNIVERSITY (IMU)
Bachelor of Science (Hons) Psychology Duration: 3 – 4.5 years (full-time)
Focusing more on preparing students to work in health-related fields or pursue postgraduate studies in psychology, this programme provides a 12-week supervised practical attachment to various government and NGOs such as hospitals, rehabilitation centres and care-homes, during which students will receive hands-on experience in real-life situations. IMU is Malaysia’s first private medical and health care university and as the University offers the widest range of healthcare programmes, students are able to learn in a community of students and practitioners from all healthcare fields.
For the Bachelor of Science (Hons) Psychology, students learn about Biopsychology, Introduction to Counselling and Psychotherapy, Cognitive Psychology, Heath Psychology, Assessment and Treatment of Psychological Disorder, Drugs and Behaviour, Research Methods and more. IMU’s psychology curriculum is widely accepted internationally for further specialisation at the graduate level.
BA (Hons) Business Psychology Duration: 3 years (full-time)
If you have a keen interest in psychology and want to explore how it can be useful in a general business context, this programme from SEGi University may just be the right fit for you. In this programme, students learn about Management Skills: Managing the Individual and Team, Organisational Behaviour: Managing the Performance of Individuals, Foundations of Psychology for Business, Strategic Management, Human Performance in Organisations, and the choice between Advanced Counselling Theory or Social Psychology: Current Social Issues.
