According to this year’s most recently published National Student Survey (NSS), the University of Surrey has registered its highest ever overall rating with 90% of students expressing satisfaction with the quality of their course! This reputable survey revealed that the overall satisfaction has increased by three points, from 87% in 2011 to 90% this year and propelled Surrey to 15th place in the overall table (risen 17 places).

The University of Surrey demonstrated improvement in all seven areas, including Teaching, Assessment and Feedback, Organisation & Management, Learning Resources, Personal Development and Overall Satisfactions. In addition, 17 subjects are ranked in the Top 10 nationally while Politics, Aerospace Engineering and Music are all ranked 1st.

Professor Sir Christopher Snowden, President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Surrey, said in an article published on the university website, “We are delighted that our students rate their experience at Surrey so highly. This is a testament to how hard the University has been working not only to meet students’ needs, but to surpass their expectations and deliver an outstanding student experience”.

“We work very closely with the Students’ Union to deliver improvements in student satisfaction. Over the past two years we have implemented new student experience strategy, which includes a £13.2 million Library and Learning Centre open 24 hours a day, and a major overhaul of our ‘student welcome’ week”, said the Professor.
