Hello UK-bound Singaporean students! First of all, our team at Hotcourses.com.sg would like to congratulate you for taking the next step forward in pursuing your higher education, be it a Bachelors or Masters.

There are only a few more months to go before you will be leaving our sunny little red dot and flying over 10,000 km to the UK. Although it is a very exciting time indeed, there will surely be some jitters amongst most of you about moving abroad.

Whether these nerves could be caused by saying those dreaded goodbyes to your family, your dog or your loved one, or fearing that there would not be enough stock of your favourite instant noodles or bottle of chilli sauce, etc… Have no fear! There are many Singaporeans and Singaporean organizations based in the UK who will be welcoming you to make you feel almost at home.

** As for the noodles and chilli sauce, there are several Asian grocery stores (especially in Chinatown), which import ample stocks of products from Singapore, Malaysia and other Asian countries, so rest assured there will be plenty to live on.

There are also quite a number of student groups and organisations from the major UK universities, which are hosting pre-departure meet-ups in Singapore to prepare you for your big move abroad. Pls check the latest updates from your individual Unis, but here is a brief list of induction and orientation programmes that will give you the chance to bond and mingle with other fellow Singaporeans:
