ACU is among the top 101–200 universities in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2020. The rankings measure the impact of the university on society, in line with its success in meeting the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). ACU was noted for its excellence in the following SDGs:
From 2021, ACU will be launching undergraduate and postgraduate programs at its newest campus in Blacktown. Students at the Blacktown campus will join a small, nurturing community backed by local partnerships and international opportunities.
The ACU Centre for Languages recently launched its online EAP course. The course covers the same content as the face-to-face EAP program and develops the English language proficiency and academic skills necessary to succeed at university in Australia.
The online course combines an online interactive classroom experience with collaborative peer work, and individual consultations with teachers and guidance with assessments. Successful completion of EAP online will offer a direct pathway to a variety of ACU undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
ACU has made swift adjustments to accommodate students in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. The university continues to monitor the situation closely and is keeping up to date with the impacts of government decisions about policy, healthcare and border protection.

ACU’s Faculty of Education and Arts includes the National School of Arts and National School of Education. An important producer of new teachers in Australia, the faculty attracts students who seek to tackle complex issues in fields such as education, youth work, global studies, media, communications and design.
The Faculty of Health Sciences is ACU’s largest faculty and a leading producer of nurses, midwives as well as paramedics in Australia. The faculty is comprised of three schools, namely Allied Health, Behavioural and Health Sciences, and Nursing, Midwifery and Paramedicine. The schools focus on excellence, innovation and community impact, across all study areas.

All language centres are located on ACU campuses (Brisbane, Melbourne and North Sydney), so students have complete and immediate access to ACU facilities and are an ACU student from day one. All of the courses and assessments offered at the Australian Catholic University (ACU) are delivered in English. It is mandatory for students to demonstrate their English language proficiency to the university in order to make the most of their studies.
If English is a student’s first language, they must finish their last year of Australian schooling (Year 12), or an alternative equivalent qualification.
If English is not a student’s first language, they will need to demonstrate their proficiency with evidence, including a recent assessment, qualification or test.
This assessment, qualification or test result provided by students must be completed within two years prior to the commencement of studies at ACU.

ACU International Student Scholarships are awarded to undergraduate as well as postgraduate international students who begin their education at the university and have demonstrated excellent academic merit in their previous studies. Applicants who are successful will receive a tuition fee waiver of half of the full-time fees for the minimum duration of their course (inclusive of RPL/Credit).
In light of ACU’s success in global rankings, the Peter Faber Business School will award scholarships worth up to AUD 5,000 per year to commencing students of business and information technology programmes. Students will be eligible to receive the Global Excellence Scholarship every year of their course, provided that they successfully pass at least three subjects per semester.
