Griffith University has a long and distinguished history of driving innovation and achievement in higher education. The university is home to four Australian University Teachers of the Year.

AAUT Awards for Teaching Excellence

Griffith University educators have been recognised in the Australian Awards for University Teaching (AAUT), winning three awards at the 2024 ceremony. In addition, the university won two Awards for Teaching Excellence, an Award for Programs that Enhance Learning and three Citations for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning in the 2021 round.

AAUT are highly competitive national awards and Griffith University has an enviable record of success in the awards program, having received more Australian Awards for University Teaching than any other university since 2012.

Griffith University’s six campuses are a thriving network of learning and innovation. The university’s five physical campuses – at Gold Coast, Mt Gravatt, Logan, South Bank and Nathan – and its digital campus, all have state-of-the-art facilities and services to ensure a memorable learning environment for students.

Lecture theatres

Contemporary learning spaces which vary in size, starting from 50 all the way up to 700 seats.

Griffith University has a network of libraries which offer individual as well as group study zones and academic training workshops.

The university's labs as well as studios have been custom built for the students so that they can learn in an environment that is industry-relevant.

Sports

Sporting facilities include athletics tracks, fields, gyms, pools, tennis courts and recreation halls.

Griffith University has common-use computer labs, printing and copying facilities on campus.

Griffith University is firm in its commitment to offering students a safe and inclusive campus, free from any kind of bullying, discrimination and harassment.

On-campus security service

Security services at Griffith are available 24 hours a day, on all of the university’s campuses. For those students staying late on any of the university’s campuses, Griffith University’s Campus Support Team will arrange safe travel to their cars or to their on-campus accommodation.

Mental Health services

Griffith University’s team of efficient and helpful counsellors provide students with helpful tools, perspectives and strategies on a range of personal issues related to study, work life and even relationships.

Online Health and Wellness Service

Griffith's online Health and Wellness Centre assists students in finding support for their individual wellness needs using the online resources available to them.

The university’s Safe Campuses initiative is constantly working to increase awareness among students of any type of violence in the community and empower them with know-how to report incidents and therefore contribute to prevention and response. Griffith University also encourages support-seeking behaviours within and across the community.
