While the free local shuttle buses will get students to Wollongong city or the beach in less than 10 minutes, the campus has seven coffee shops, more than 15 food outlets, a bar, supermarket, hairdresser, travel agent, post office, three banks, health clinic, dentist, physio, sporting fields, gym, swimming pool and one of the biggest movie screens in the region.
Accommodation
UOW provides a wide range of living options that suit different budgets and living needs. Brand new studio apartments and four or five bedroom units are now available in Kooloobong Village. The University’s International House, for instance, is home to many Australian and international students. It proudly boasts of a community representing over 30 nations.
Library
The University’s award-winning library and dedicated staff supports students during their study at UOW. Students will have access to print and digital collections containing over a million volumes that cover a variety of topics. The library also houses dozens of learning spaces, from quiet study areas to group seminar rooms.
UniActive
UniActive at the University of Wollongong provides a world-class facility to meet the training needs of individuals and sporting teams. Its highly qualified staff have provided training to some of the region's finest athletes and Australia's future sporting champions. UniActive is recognised as the New South Wales Institute of Sport (NSWIS) regional training facility for its athletes. The University of Wollongong is also listed as an Elite Athlete Friendly University.
Food outlets
The University has a myriad of cuisines served at its many food outlets. From Indian to Korean, and Pizza to Pide, students can explore the world through the campus cuisine. UOW also has super skilled baristas and a fantastic selection of coffee.
IGA grocery store
IGA offers UOW students the convenience of grocery shopping on campus. Products available include fresh fruits and vegetables, delicatessen including BBQ chicken, international and ready-to-eat meals, among others.
Campus clinic
'Campus Clinic' is UOW's very own General Practice, available 5 days a week to provide friendly and confidential treatment of any health concerns students may have. It provides an extensive range of medical services such as vaccines, skin checks, travel medicine, and VISA medicals.
