The University of Nottingham Ningbo China has been awarded Professional Development Qualification (PDQ) status. It can now deliver PDQ courses. The university is the first approved PDQ centre in East Asia to teach courses fully online.
UNNC has been licensed by Cambridge International for the delivery of its PDQ courses. The qualifications enable teachers to take part in continuous professional development alongside their careers. Teachers participate in 150 hours of learning to complete a PDQ certificate course. The course includes:

Teaching at UNNC is delivered in the same way as at the University of Nottingham UK campus. Students learn through the medium of English in a British-style HE teaching environment. They graduate with a degree awarded by the University of Nottingham, which is the same degree that students from the UK and Malaysia campuses receive.
Approximately 880 teaching, research and professional services staff work at UNNC. They are recruited from some of the world’s best universities, research institutes and companies. All members of staff are dedicated to helping students on their way to exceptional achievements.
Research undertaken at each University of Nottingham campus is outstanding. Around 51 per cent of the university’s academic papers were published in the top ten per cent of the world’s journals. This world-leading research is undertaken across all the university’s faculties. UNNC ranked highest for Scientific Research Quality in the 2019 Best Chinese University Rankings (Shanghai Ranking Consultancy).

UNNC works closely with the British Council to be sure that all international qualifications are considered during admission. There are however specific requirements for different countries and programmes.
As all programmes are delivered in English, students need to meet a minimum standard of language proficiency before they begin their academic studies.

At UNNC, international students enjoy a full range of campus facilities. This includes a UK-style high street where there is a post office, bookstore, supermarket, salon, cinema, bank ATMs and a number of restaurants. Close to campus are other shopping and entertainment amenities.
During their spare time, students can take part in some many student-run societies and clubs. There are also numerous sports teams and facilities. The university has won awards for its excellent sports provisions.
Every international student has a guaranteed room in student accommodation. These are fully-furnished private bedrooms with shared social and kitchen facilities.
The campus library is full of resources to support students with their studies. This includes over one million books and journals. There are group and private study spaces, computers, digital materials and much more.
University of Nottingham Ningbo China supports its students through a number of financial awards. Working alongside the Chinese government, it dedicates a large amount to scholarships to recognise achievements of both new and current students.
Almost 30 per cent of undergraduates and more than 40 per cent of postgraduates receive an entrance award from the university. There are also funding opportunities for non-degree students.
The entrance award is for overseas students who achieve AAA in their A Levels, or equivalent. It’s worth RMB 110,000, which covers the first year of undergraduate tuition fees.
RMB 20,000 is available for undergraduate students who are from selected central and eastern European countries.
A tuition fee reduction of ten per cent is available for students whose family members are either registered on or have successfully completed a degree course at UNNC.
In recognition of the academic ability of University of Nottingham graduates, students applying for full-time postgraduate studies at University of Nottingham Ningbo China and who have previously studied at undergraduate level at University of Nottingham UK, China or Malaysia are entitled to a 15% tuition fee scholarship.
