This qualification provides the skills, theoretical and practical knowledge for work or further learning in the conservation and ecosystem management industry.
At this level of qualification, students will learn a range of conservation and ecosystem management activities including site restoration, rehabilitation and renewal and management of the rural and natural landscapes, degraded sites and marine environments.
Course Overview
The qualification provides students with a solid foundation in the preservation and maintenance of wildlife and their habitat in the natural ecosystem, parks and reserves. It enables students to perform activities frequently involve working with and preservation of Indigenous culture and heritage resources. Graduates of this course will be able to work as: land rehabilitation worker, national parks worker, revegetation worker, national parks ranger, earthworks conservation technician, rehabilitation of mined land worker, marine Conservation and Restoration assistant, marine monitoring assistant.
The course is designed to carry out basic tasks in marine conservation work, take port in mangrove conservation project and coastal dunes restoration, setup and use photographic equipment and techniques to take photographs in the field.
