What will I learn?

Contribute to advances in health and scientific discovery with an honours degree in biomedical research. You’ll customise your studies by choosing to major in either Discovery Bioscience or Clinical Medical Science. This degree is for high-ATAR students who aspire to careers in biomedical science research. Complete a full-year research program in your final year within the laboratory of an approved university, research institute or industry research site. Learn the biological processes that underpin a person’s health in the Discovery Bioscience major, or study emerging therapies in the Clinical Medical Science major. Undertake project units that have strong industry and research collaboration and take part in a research roadshow visiting laboratories and clinical site trials.

Entry requirements

For international students

To apply for entry into this course, you must have met:

  • the course ATAR (Australian Tertiary Academic Rank) or equivalent recognised overseas qualification
  • ATAR - 90
  • Completion of Australian Year 12 (VCE, HSC, QCE, WACE, SACE, TCE, NTCE, ACT) with a minimum Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) of 70; and a scaled mark of at least 50 in English, Literature, or English as an Additional Language or Dialect.
  • International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma - 35

Prerequisite subjects

Essential subjects - Chemistry and Mathematics including calculus
