Occupational therapist

Assess, rehabilitate and treat patients.

Maintain positive relationships with staff, management, patients and all other stakeholders.

Conduct sensory and behavioural interventions and make recommendations for home modifications.

Professional recognition

The Bachelor of Applied Science and Master of Occupational Therapy Practice is accredited by the Occupational Therapy Council (Australia and New Zealand).

Graduates of the Bachelor of Applied Science and Master of Occupational Therapy Practice may be eligible to apply for registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia. Professional registration may be subject to additional or ongoing requirements beyond completion of the degree. Please contact the relevant professional body for details.

Entry requirements

For students from United States

Applicants require completion of Australian Year 12 (or international equivalent) with a certain grade. International Baccalaureate (IB): Minimum of 4 in English A1 or A2 (Higher and Standard Levels); or Minimum of 5 in English B (Higher Level), Over six subjects. English Language Requirements: IELTS (Academic): Overall score of 6.0 with no band less than 6.0; TOEFL Paper-based Test - Overall score of 550 with 5 or better in TWE (Test of Written English); TOEFL Internet based (iBT): Overall 64 with 13 in Reading, 12 in Listening, 18 in Speaking and 21 in Writing, Pearson Test of English (Academic) (PTE): Overall score of 50 with no communicative skill score less than 50, Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (CAE): 169 with no less than 169 in any component, Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE): 169 with no less than 169 in any component.
