What will I learn?

The Bachelor of Arts enables you to pursue two areas of academic interest at the same time.Gain international experience as part of the Hawke Ambassador Volunteer Experience Program.Use this degree as a pathway to further study, including the Master of Teaching (Secondary).As a student studying the sociology major you will explore social change, social problems and issues such as ethnicity, globalisation, popular culture, gender and social movements.understand the complexities of contemporary social life, addressing social problems and examining issues of ethnicity, globalisation, popular culture and social movements.have developed both critical and creative thinking capabilities in order to identify trends, structures and social issues that emerge from cultural, political and economic change.be able to undertake systematic methods of investigation and analysis of societal structures within professional contexts in order to contribute effectively to local, national and international initiatives.As a sociology student you will explore social life, social change and social problems. You will develop an understanding of the complexities of contemporary social life addressing social problems and examining issues of ethnicity, globalisation, popular culture and social movements.

Meet any prerequisite requirements with a minimum grade of C OR equivalentANDQualify for the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE), and achieved a competitive Selection Rank (ATAR), OR Complete secondary qualifications equivalent to SACE, OR Complete the International Baccalaureate Diploma with a minimum sc OR e of 24 pointsApplicants who have not achieved the Selection Rank required for automatic selection may be selected for any remaining places based on the grades of their year 12 subjects.Higher education studyComplete OR partly complete a recognised higher education program at a recognised higher education institution, OR Complete at least four Open Universities Australia (OUA) courses at undergraduate level OR above OR Vocational Education and Training (VET)Complete an award from a registered training OR ganisation at Certificate IV OR above OR work and life experienceQualify for Special Entry, OR Complete a 12month UniSA Foundation Studies program OR equivalent, OR Hold completed secondary qualifications equivalent to SACE obtained more than 2 years in the past.
