The rollout of the digital economy is now a worldwide economic imperative, and people who can work and lead in the global digital economy will have secure career opportunities.

Skills in blockchain topped LinkedIn Learning’s list of in-demand hard skills for 2020. The Bachelor of Business (Blockchain Enabled Business) has been designed to equip you with the knowledge to work at the frontier of the emerging new digital economy.

Blockchain is a transformative technology at the centre of the new digital economy, with wide-ranging applications across all aspects of commerce, government and social enterprises. It is fundamentally reshaping the industrial, employment and social landscape that future graduates will live and work in.

Global and Australian labour market reports show that there has been more than 200% year-on-year job growth in this field since 2015. Approximately half of that growth is for people with the knowledge and skills to identify, understand and communicate the value proposition and the economic, financial, accounting, legal, ethical, business IT and strategic management dimensions of blockchain for all types of industries.

The Bachelor of Business (Blockchain Enabled Business) is a world first, truly multi-disciplinary applied degree that will prepare you to work in a globalised, international context in a range of in-demand roles and sectors.

This degree will equip you with the knowledge and skills you will need to apply and manage blockchain in public and private enterprises, through a multi-disciplinary curriculum that brings together in-depth theoretical and practical learning.

The curriculum is underpinned by skills in accounting, marketing, management, statistics, and business IT. In your major specialisation, you will learn about: blockchain and the economy, cryptofinance and fintech, building and using smart contracts, blockchain for trade, and the legal, ethical and regulatory aspects of new technologies. You will also undertake a project-based capstone subject that brings all these together to solve an industry problem.

Career

The Bachelor of Business (Blockchain Enabled Business) will equip you for a career at the forefront of the new global digital economy. It will prepare you to work in a globalised, international environment as a business analyst, consultant, policy advisor or manager in the many and varied business sectors that adopt blockchain technology, including finance, banking, health, trade, supply chain and logistics, and a range of government and social service agencies requiring expertise in the field.

Entry requirements

For students from United States

Applicants must have completed a recognized equivalent Year 12 studies program to the required standard. International Baccalaureate Diploma (IBDP): 25. To study this program you will need to complete one of the following English proficiency tests: IELTS (Academic): minimum overall band of 6.0 (with no individual band below 5.5); TOEFL (Internet Based Test - IBT): minimum overall score of 60 (with minimum of 10 in Reading, 9 in Listening, 16 in Speaking and 19 in Writing); Pearson Test of English (Academic) (PTE (A)): minimum score of 50 (with no communication band less than 42); Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE): minimum of 169 with no less than 162 in any component

For international students

You must have successfully completed an Australian Year 12 or an equivalent senior secondary school qualification with a minimum average of 65%

To study this program you will need to complete one of the following English proficiency tests:

IELTS (Academic): minimum overall band of 6.5 (with no individual band below 6.0)
TOEFL (Internet Based Test - IBT): minimum overall score of 79 (with minimum of 13 in Reading, 12 in Listening, 18 in Speaking and 21 in Writing)
Pearson Test of English (Academic) (PTE (A)): minimum score of 58 (with no communication band less than 50)
Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE): minimum of 176 with no less than 169 in any component.
