What you'll learn

This degree will prepare you for a career as a non-clinical health professional, providing you with a strong foundation of knowledge in areas like human biology, psychology, mental health and cultural safety in both national and international settings.

You’ll learn how to work with a diverse range of clients, to develop plans that assist in the delivery of care by health professionals, and how to remain up-to-date with the changing regulations and technologies in this evolving field.

You’ll work on projects in your final year that directly enhance the lives of individuals and groups in your community.

Entry requirements

For students from United States

Australian Year 12 program or an equivalent program in your home country. English language requirements: English Language Testing System (IELTS): 6.0, TOEFL PBT: 550 with TWE of 4.5, TOEFL iBT: 60 with Reading and Writing not less than 18, Cambridge CAE/CPE: 169, CELUSA (UniSA ELICOS): AE4, Pearson PTE: 50 with Reading and Writing communicative scores not less than 50. Note: SAT is scored on a 1600 point scale.

For international students

Applicants are required to meet one of the following criteria with a competitive result:
Higher education study: Successfully completed equivalent to a minimum of half a year of full-time study of a higher education program at a recognised higher education provider OR
Vocational Education and Training (VET): Complete an award from a registered training organisation at Certificate IV or above OR
Work and life experience: Passed a University of South Australia Online literacy and numeracy test and have relevant work experience, or Completed a University of South Australia Foundations Studies program or equivalent, or Qualify for Special Entry OR
Recent secondary education: Completed a secondary education qualification equivalent to SACE, such as an interstate year 12 or international qualification.
