Course Description

Would you like to build a career out of making a difference to people’s lives? Nurses do just that by providing healthcare in times of need – from acute health issues in emergency departments to home visits that assist the elderly to remain in their homes for longer.

Combine the professional person-centered approach of nursing with psychosocial and biological sciences as you learn the skills needed to become a Registered Nurse. You can complete your Nursing degree in three years of full-time study or within six years of part-time study.

Professional recognition

This course is accredited by the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council (ANMAC).

When you graduate, you’ll be eligible for registration in the Registered Nurse Category of the Register at the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and the Nurses and Midwives Board of Australia. Once you have successfully completed the degree and registered, you're accredited to work nationally in Australia.

If you’re already qualified as a registered nurse in your home country, or are living overseas and already have nursing qualifications, we offer alternative pathways to become a Registered Nurse in Australia.

Entry requirements

For students from United States

Applicants must have a Completion of a minimum of 65% or better in Grade 12 English. Academic International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Overall 6.0 with no band below 6.0; Test of English as a Foreign Language - IBT (TOEFL IBT) - 73 with no band less than 18; Test of English as a Foreign Language - Paper Based (TOEFL - Paper Based) - 534 (Test of Written English not less than 4.5); Cambridge Advanced English prior 52 with no section less than Borderline; Cambridge Advanced English after 169 overall with no band below 169; Occupational English Test (OET) - OET with a minimum of C in the four components; Pearson Test of English (PTE) 50 with no band below 50.

For international students

Applicants are required to complete secondary education (Year 12 or Australian equivalent) currently or within the last two years are eligible to apply. Entry requirements vary country by country.

English Language Requirements: Academic International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with an overall 6.5 with no band below 6.5 or equivalent; TOEFL 79 with no band less than 21 Pearson Test of English (PTE) 58 with no band below 58.
