What will I learn?

Study key aspects of livestock health and welfare, product quality, farm safety, and animal ethics to ensure humane and sustainable food production. You will examine emerging technologies in animal breeding programs, and learn to apply cognitive and technical skills in the area of genetics. Combine with a second major, such as Biology, Plant Agricultural Science, or Environment and Sustainability, to create a well-rounded agriculture degree and broaden your employment potential. UniSQ has strategic partnerships in the Australian and international agriculture industry with multi-national agribusinesses and leading agencies including John Deere, the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries, and the Department of Environment and Science.For graduates with an Animal Science major, careers might include research scientist (government, private or university), animal nutritionist, animal health specialist, rural banking professional, agribusiness employee, farmer, and consultant.
