The dual Business Management / Information Technology program is designed to equip you with the skills and self-confidence to stay ahead of the game and effectively manage a wide range of business and technology environments.

You'll graduate with technical skills to solve problems, support innovation and improve communication between people. You'll hone your business acumen and develop the ability to confidently lead people and projects.

During your studies, you'll hear from industry guest lecturers, examine real-life case studies and undertake projects, placements and internships with leading businesses. With coursework developed in close collaboration with UQ industry partners, this program will give you a solid foundation in concepts relevant across the business world and technology-based industries.

You'll study topics including human resources, international business, economics, marketing, business information systems and strategy, and learn about software engineering, design, mathematics, information systems and more.

A diverse range of majors available across both disciplines will allow you to specialise and thrive, preparing you for rewarding employment opportunities.

International Business

This major will prepare you to work in any business with global operations, or any business that wants to expand.

You'll learn how local conditions can affect global business operations. Plus, you'll study key topics including international trade and investment, international marketing, and how firms operate when they engage in international business, finance and strategy.

This major will prepare you for a career in a huge range of businesses, government agencies or trade associations.

Entry requirements

For students from United States

To be offered a place in an undergraduate program, you need to have successfully completed Queensland Year 12, or a qualification equivalent to Queensland Year 12, with the required minimum entry score for the program you're interested in studying. English Language Scores: IELTS: Overall Band Score of 6.5 AND a minimum score of 6 in each sub-band of Writing, Reading, Speaking and Listening; TOEFL (Internet-Based-iBT): Overall score 87 with a Writing score of 21 and Reading, Speaking and Listening scores of 19; TOEFL (Paper-based): Overall score of 570 and a minimum score of 5.0 in the Test of Written English (TWE) and 54 in Listening and Reading; PTE: Overall score of 64 with 60 in each communicative skills section. IB – International Baccalaureate: 25-42.

For international students

Queensland Year 12 (or equivalent) General English subject (Units 3 & 4, C); Mathematical Methods (Units 3 & 4, C)

English Proficiency

BE - A minimum overall grade of 4 plus a minimum grade of C in all macro skills.

CES - Overall 176 and 169 in all sub bands.

OET is not accepted.
