This course provides professional knowledge and skills in information systems (IS). In the GCIS, you will gain a broad understanding of IS applications in industry as well as specific skills in programming, systems analysis and project management. These skills will help you to manage future business challenges, enhancing your individual advancement and employment opportunities.

COURSE STRUCTURE

You will study four (4) units throughout this course, these focuses on project management concepts, information systems analysis and design, information communication technology and the principles of programming.

Entry requirements

For students from United States

Certificates: Successful completion of Australian Year 10 or equivalent. Diplomas: Successful completion of Australian Year 12 or equivalent; or completion of AQF Certificate IV or equivalent. IELTS academic overall 5.0 (with no band less than 5.5); TOEFL (internet-based) overall 65 (with no score less than 15); PTE Academic overall 46 (with no score less than 42); CAE and CPE overall 162 (with no band less than 154).

For international students

To be eligible for entry into this course, student must have:-

A bachelor degree or equivalent qualification; or

A recognized diploma and a minimum of two years of relevant communication and information technology experience; or

A minimum of five years of relevant communication and information technology experience:

  • Secondary and post-secondary certificates;
  • Evidence from employer (past and present) on company letterhead

English requirements

IELTS Academic - Overall 6.0 (with no band less than 5.5); TOEFL (internet-based) - Overall 75 (with no score less than 17), PTE Academic - Overall 54 (with no score less than 46), CAE and CPE - Overall 169 (with no band less than 154).
