What will I learn?

Get a start on your fashion career through learning the foundations. This qualification will qualify you to undertake further studies or work as a fashion design assistant. Make a start on your fas hion career with this entry-level course. You will graduate with a portfolio of work and be qualified to work as an assistant designer.According to the Australian Government's Job Outlook service, the number of people working as fashion, industrial and jewellery designers is expected to grow very strongly and likely to reach over 3,000 job opportunities in the next five years. This course will give you the skills you need to draw and interpret basic sketches, modify patterns to create basic styles, identify fibres, fabrics and textiles, and use electronic fashion design tools. Our highly experienced and passionate teaching team have years of industry experience and will give you the one-on-one guidance needed to prepare you for a career in fashion.Completion of this course will give you direct entry into our Diploma of Apparel, Fashion and textiles qualification. Graduates will also be able to seek employment as a fashion designer assistant.

Entry requirements

For international students

Academic Requirements: Completion of Year 10 (or equivalent). Non school-leavers must have relevant work experience or qualification that indicates likely success of course completion.

International students who are under 18 years of age and are applying for a student visa are required by the Australian Government Department of Home Affairs to have adequate welfare arrangements in place.

Academic IELTS 6.0 (no individual band less than 5.5); TOEFL: iBT score of 64 with 13 in Reading /12 in Listening and 21 in writing /18 in speaking; PTE Academic (Pearson Test of English) overall score of 50 with Reading /Listening /writing /speaking score of 50; Cambridge C1 Advanced test score of 169.
